I like the blacked-out margins that we're rolling with now. Can we just keep that look?

Nice banner, too.

As a non-American, who has no say in this and can't contact my Congresscritter to do anything about it, that banner ad (that comes back the second you change/refresh the page) is annoying. If I'm still annoyed enough, I'm going to the feedback forum to ***** about it, after I comeback from a smoke.

I like the banner personally. But this whole ordeal affects me, so that's why. I can see how it might annoy the non-Americans among us.

And continues to do so even after you've clicked it. It'd be liek ahving someone ask you for a donation, you give them the money and they continue to ask you over and over and over again.

I've very little understanding of the American Constitution, nor have I really been able to follow America's responses to the bills seeing as I apparently need to be in America to say anything about the anti-SOPA campaign, but aren't SOPA/PIPA completely unconstitutional per the First Amendment*? Has anyone tried raising that issue with the government?

*The only reason I know what the First Amendment even says is because of a Rob Halford song, which in turn is the only reason why I am commenting.

You're right. Those Occupy Wall Street dudes should have packed up and went home after the first day. I mean, they marched on Wall Street, they made their point. Now they're just holding up traffic!

Actually, they should have.

Besides, all that ahd to be done was after someone clicks the close button on the ad, it stays closed. Pretty simple.

For the lazy US folks who have not called your Senators yet (if they haven't abandoned bill yet):

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Super easy. Pick your state from the drop down menu. Call the number. A very nice intern will answer. Tell them you are a citizen of the state and you oppose PIPA and think they should too. Tell them how it will affect you and if you have any Internet credentials (web programmer, etc) toss that in too.

Takes five minutes and is way more effective than another online petition.

Probably right there. It's not a site I've ever used before, I'm just reposting a link that someone else reposted, etc.

I don't use Twitter, but one of my friends who does posted this link of people who have no idea what is going on. It's pretty funny, but sad at the same time.

I thought it was amusing for the first 10 or so, and then I started getting depressed at the fact that so many people clearly don't have a clue of what's going on. Then I got depressed because I began to suspect that not all of them were being ironic in saying "Now how will I do my essays?" Then I got depressed that like 10 people in a row expressed their displeasure and confusion by calling Wikipedia "gay". Then I got depressed because a startling number of people are apparently undiagnosed dyslexics, and thought that Wikipedia is protesting soap. Then I got depressed about guys whose Twitter avatars are cameraphone shots of themselves shirtless.

Then I drank.
