Why not? They go to work when they're sick and pass it on to you. You're doing them a favour anyway. You're helping their immune systems encounter more things, so as to be better prepared to fight off more serious illnesses.

Unless they catch whatever she has, and while their immune system is busy fighting it off *BAM* pneumonia. Then they die. Think about all the people who are going to have to plan a funeral and junk, just because one girl decided to go out to dinner instead of doing the responsible thing and ordering in.

Honestly, Ugly, I expected more from you.

Sure, but then all the people associated with the funeral get another paycheck and another job opens up for the population that doesn't have, along with one less person leeching limited resources and taking up space.

Gotta look for those silver linings.

Awesome movie, although I made the mistake of seeing it with my family over the holiday weekend. Definitely not a "family-friendly" flick, but fantastic nonetheless.

I remember seeing a Chinese (or Korean? Some Asian Country) Swedish apparently... film on Netflix last year called Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I haven't bothered to look it up, but is this new film a US Adaptation of that one, or is it just a different movie with the same name?

Ah, cool. Yeah, I heard that there were a couple of rape scenes in it, which kinda tweaks me out. I empathize too much with characters in movies, so graphic torture/rape/murder stuff really bothers me. I literally can't watch those torture-****, Hostel-type ones.

Hopefully, I'm wrong, or they're not too bad. Still wanna see the movie, though, so I guess I'll be suffering through either way.

Same movie (based on the book with the same name), but Swedish movie was the "original" movie and the US is considered the interloper. Fantastic interloper, but interloper nonetheless.

The new one is a US adaptation of the book. Haven't read much on it, so I don't know how heavily influenced it is by the Swedish film version.

The rape/torture scenes are not "graphic" in the sense that you see blood and sharp things causing pain to squishy things (the Hostel/Saw route), but they're very emotionally charged. The most disturbing (and important) one in the second act is stretched out, and definitely invests you in the characters.

I went into this movie having neither read the book nor seen the original Swedish film, or knowing anything about the story whatsoever. The only thing I needed to know was that the movie was directed by David Fincher, who also directed Se7en, The Game, Fight Club, Zodiac, and The Social Network. A pretty outstanding resume.

Well, ugh. It's not a squeamishness about anatomy that bothers me, it's just empathizing too much with horrible things being shown happening to people. I go way beyond "Oh, sucks for that girl", and get that sick feeling in my stomach that you get when you see something horrible in real life.

Yeah, I got sucked into AC over the holiday break. It had been sitting on my shelf still in the wrapper since release day, once I put it in it was one of those game where next thing you know it's 2am and you're saying to yourself "crap, I really need to sleep sometime soon.... 5 more minutes"

I have some schoolwork to get started on as my next classes start Monday, but if I do good and get a lot done I may throw down on some AC this weekend as well.

Meh, apology unnecessary. It's say right in your title you lack soul.

I on the other hand bought my soul for a mere 18,000 dollars.

I still say go see it anyways; it's probably the second-best movie I saw all year.

I work on a trailing 365.25 days method, not your silly "calendar" year.

I think i'll go see that new sherlock holmes movie. I liked the first one. That and if it is dry enough, maybe take the new helicopter upgrades for a spin!

Edit: Thats an eflite MCPX - now modified to version 2 specifications, also with a new aluminum swashplate, blade grips and primary rotor head. Which doesn't look like that much different than a normal radio control helicopter, until you realize that the entire thing is only 3 inches tall...

Yeah, I'll sack up and see it. Still looks cool to me; doubt I'll be disappointed.

I'd like to see it, but I can tell you right now that my enjoyment will be based precisely on how often they do that "Slow motion as Sherlock dictates the moves that he plans to do in a fight (Hook to side, breaking the left ribs. Knee to the groin, causing nausea. Headbutt, causing disorientation.)"

The over/under is at 2.5. Any more than that, and I'm gonna be fuming.

Going to be resting/recovering this weekend. My Christmas vacation consisted of being mildly sick for about a week (scratchy throat, slight cough), then progressed into full chest cold, heavy cough, hot and cold flashes and dizziness. New Years plans were scrapped (for me anyway) since I was at the height of ickyness that day. It's been lingering this whole week. Finally decided to just drop the stupid cold medication since it doesn't seem to be doing anything (other than making my damn kidneys hurt despite massive fluid intake). So at least I don't have the medicine-head bit going right now. And my cough is actually better today. Yay!

To top it off, my bluray player crapped out on me right after I finished my annual Christmas LoTR marathon (so about last Wednesday). Been too brain fried to shop for a new one, so my TV options have been mostly me sitting in a dazed state watching random stuff on TruTV (the "Top 20 Worst X" shows with the C-list celebs is actually pretty darn funny. Or it may just have been the delirium). Oh! I did re-watch Game of Thrones OnDemand though, so there is that.

So basically trying to ease back into a normal schedule. Go me!

So I started having trouble breathing and I went to urgent care and apparently I have a raging bacterial infection in my throat that decided to try invading my lungs and I was on the rapid road to pneumonia.

I spent my afternoon on a respirator. Smiley: glare

Hope you get to feeling better, cat.

The past week has been a little on the rough side for me. I had some regular gigs that kept me afloat financially and I got dropped from literally everything with zero warning. I wish they had at least dropped me before I dropped $700 on a computer. I'm pretty close to screwed, but I guess it's what I signed up for.

Since I'm on the subject, I may as well rant: it's starting to suck living in an area that has "both kinds of music: Country AND Western!" and trying to play something a little different. I don't get it. I kill nearly every crowd I play for (in the figurative sense), but I can't get a gig for the life of me because I'm not the good ol' boy's bar band. Knoxville's either got to start sprouting some less redneck places or I'm going to have to move somewhere else.

oh get well soon.

Bacterial infections suck. I was down for a month with one - over the whole holiday I had to not really drink because my insides were tender

Any logic behind the suggestion?
