yeah bending th knee with major pain isnt what I remember. Id get that checked out. but as per growing pains in general, I remember a lot of pain in my legs (not joints) during parts of my childhood. They hurt like a **** and were centered around my calves or thighs. It would be like that for a few days to a week then go away on its own

This happened to me all the time too. No joint pain, just general aching in my calves and thighs that would go away after a couple of days.

Grandson is 9 and Jonwin check out his leg and found his caff muscles were tight. Lack of calcium or leg movement at night, are both possibilities as the cause. Another possibility could be sitting wrong with the knee turn outward. I correct how the grand kids sit, when I'm around but not sure if his parents do.

Hyper flexible joints run in my family and I still find myself sitting wrong, though I know I'll suffer from pain when I straiten out my legs.

Today he staying at his mom's and I'll talk to her. If the pain still is preventing him from bending his knee I'll insist he see their doctor.

DSD; I'm blown away by how big your kids have become and they certainly have the same glow that you have.
Awesome. and the rest of you too, Always interesting to peak in on the other realities of people beside what they post here.

I'll play :) I always welcome the opportunity to ham it up (though I have no kids yet[PHEW])

These are from no time in particular, let's see.. I have no kid photos so here is me as a kid offering the very best that the early 80s had to offer; Mad Magazine and Michael Jackson Screenshot
Here is my old dead smashed car from earlier this year Screenshot someone rear-ended me going about 60 on I-95.. I'd like to think it was that I was listening to Philippians on CD when it happened that saved my life.. but more possible all of the crap in my trunk.. Also the fact that I happened to look up at the right time and turned my wheel to the right which prevented me to getting accordion squashed into the trunk in front of me. I was sitting still. The only fatality was a flattened PC-Vac.
My wife with my machine-gun in battle stance (isn't she adorable?[the wife not the Sig516])

hmm let's see.. here is my utra-cute kitty doing what she does best Screenshot
and here is my moogle learning to keep it's place Screenshot

Daughter tells me that it was their doctor that diagnose Ian having growing pains. Hot bath and heating pad seems to be helping.

I had "growing pains" and also growing pains. Have them lie her down on a table and pull her feet forward. For most people, they can align the feet just fine. For me, I had a back problem diagnosed as a foot problem when they saw my feet did not align. I just got done with treatment, and it's still a long road. While these things may or may not be related (assuming she's luckier in the birth-defect-having and/or birth-defect-mis-diagnosing departments,) I did have other growing pains. Aside from those, I gained a fascination for cracking my knuckles... and as a result every other joint as much as I could when I was young. It's hard to say whether cracking my knees was a symptom or caused the issue, but I had huge knee pain problems around ages 10-12.

What's really weird is that I had custom orthotics (see above caveat,) yet still ended up having to walk with crutches for a while. Furthermore, no doc spotted the back problem (that caused everything up to this point,) until I was either 23 or 24. So... yeah. I would go with the checking-things-out route :)

FWIW, when I finally went for (yet another) set of x-rays at 23/24, I ended up going to a 'professional building' that looked like the creepiest hospital scene from a horror movie. Lights were at best half-working and flickering constantly and I was beyond creeped out. When I got to the x-ray machine, its serial number plate had the year of manufacture and it was made before I was born. However, horror-movie-feelings aside, that was when they figured out the whole underlying problem that caused me **** from around 10-12 years of age.
