More giant checks written to the networks' advertising departments to fight each other now means less money for ads against Obama later
Nah, the superpac money is basically contra limiting. The GOP will spend whatever they think they have to to counter the DEM media in the General (and to nominate Romney, if it comes to that).
Not that it was ever really very difficult to channel soft money into media buys, but now it's essentially frictionless. The reported fundraising numbers for either party or candidate for the general election will mean almost nothing this time.
Best case, some issue sticks that makes Romney unattractive to moron independent voters, but those idiots are rarely aware of politics until around November, so it would have to be pretty significant.
