Sears has a 32" HDTV for $200.00. It's a Seiki.

We just bought a 32" HDTV for my daughter (see post #3001JP-04K in forum=28). It was a Hidear and was $230.00. It came from Big Lots though.

Anyone ever heard of either of these brands?

I'm kind of tempted to take back the one from Big Lots and get the one from Sears. It's not the thirty bucks so much as buying it from a more reputable retailer. I was a little skeptical buying a tv from Big Lots to begin with.

However, if the Hidear is a better brand, well then, I'll keep it.

Walmart had a $99 special edition light blue Wii for $99 on Black Friday. It's not available via the website though (and likely sold out at stores). Looks like you'd drop $149 on a black one now.

Edit: $139 for a new one from Gamestop. $79 if you don't mind buying used.

Verizon had a commercial advertising the Motorola Xoom for $199 with a 2 yr contract, I believe. Checked their site, but only found it listed at $299 at the time.

Being overseas, I figured I would try "Cyber Monday". I got disappointed and quit. Most of the advertisements that I saw were products at regular prices, i.e. "Kindle Fire for $199.99"...Smiley: mad

Not cyber monday, but black friday related. I had to hit up Wal-mart Friday night because the wife demanded so. I saw an HP pc set up with a 20 inch flat screen, 2 gigs of ram and a 1.6 dual core processor for 649 dollars... They actually marked the thing up in black friday in hopes of selling them in the rush. GG Wal-mart...

I'd like a wii, but honestly, I only want it to play Zelda, which would mean spending another fifty bucks on the game. To further subtract from the gaming wallet, SWTOR comes out in a couple weeks and I've committed myself to jumping in at release with some guildies - so there's yet another sixty dollars.

Anyway the wiiU comes out next year. I'm expecting for it to be able to fully integrate me - mind, body and soul with my favorite fantasy games.

I think I'm going to pick up a couple bottles of decent wine though.

Local liquor store (think wal-mart of liquor stores) had a buy one get one for a penny sale yesterday. I picked up a case mixed with Riesling and White Zin for like 40 bucks. Do love me that Riesling...

The other reason I've wanted a wii was for the wii fitness. I used the wii yoga program when I visited my in-laws last year. I was there about a week and a half and did it every day i think. I felt much yoga-improved.

So then not only would one need to get the wii, they'd need the wii fitness board/program and zelda skyward sword and they'd need to get a netflix subscription.

Best to leave the wii alone.

Don't get me wrong here, it's great for using it to stay fit. But I'm lazy and the thought of playing Just Dance 2 with my wife for a few hours vs sitting down and watching SG1 I really feel SG1 would win out.

I think the WiiU is basically an ipad style controller for the Wii, so you will need the base system either way.

I don't think the WiiU controller will work with the current system. All the pictures I saw of it showed a totally different looking system. It's supposed to have better graphics and HD capability.

My son and his friends use our Wii when we let them (meaning it's hooked to the main TV and they can only use it if we're not watching anything). It's got some fun games if you're in the mood for them. And I still like the Sports that comes with it. Bowling is my best thing.

Nads is right, it's supposed to be a whole new system. Sort of a .5 console, somewhere between the Xbox360/PS3 and the Xbox730/PS4.

I'm concerned about it...I think it's going to prove to be a bad move in the long run for Nintendo.

The Wii doesn't even have HD output, no reason whatsoever to be using that for Netflix. The WiiU is just a bad idea waiting to die a slow expensive death.

As far as deals go, I picked up a 20 inch LED backlit monitor for $89.99 with free two day shipping.

Sure there is: It's already hooked up to the TV and I can't be bothered to run more wires to a computer or whatever.

Also, the streaming quality isn't great enough to care about it and most of what's on Netflix streaming is older stuff. If I want HD quality, I'll get a physical disc.

This. I've got Netflix streaming through the Wii and the Xbox. The Xbox has the HDMI cable. And with most of the shows and movies we watch, there's no difference in watching them on either machine.

You're stream quality will be limited to your internet speed anyway, plus going over wireless don't expect some fancy shmancy stream quality.

I dropped $10 and got an ethernet to USB adapter for the Wii and have it physically linked to the router. Works real well and stopped a lot of the hitches in Netflix's streaming not to mention general updates.

Yeah, it works just fine via wireless. And you can download a free Netflix application via the Wii's shop so you don't even need to load a disc to start it up (you originally did). I just like the more stable connection that comes with a physical wire.

Same here and ours used to be set up that way. But now the router is over here and the Wii is waaaaaay over there, so I just use the wireless. So far it's been fine. There was just one day it seemed slow.

This is why I wish I could do wiring in my apartment... I think they frown upon doing construction though.
