If you believe that people aren't hired based on things other than merit, then you're sadly mistaken. The biggest discrimination is probably hiring unqualified family members.

It doesn't matter what they put if it isn't justified. You can't say "not enough education", if other hired employees have the same amount or less education. You can't say "not enough experience" if other hired employees have the same or less experience.

This forces consistency.

You need to come to reality. Is it as rampant as it was 40 years ago? No, but it still exists and to pretend that it doesn't is just silly. I would assume because you're probably not a minority where you live, that you don't see it. It doesn't matter what skin color you are, if you're different, you will be treated differently. That's part of life and that's everywhere.
