More Cain lulz:
Political Wire wrote:
Herman Cain told CNN that another woman will come forward to accuse him of having an extramarital affair over 13 years.

Said Cain: "I wanted to get out in front of it. I have nothing to hide, I have done nothing wrong."

However, Cain's lawyer issued a statement to Fox 5 Atlanta that was less-than-helpful if he's denying the affair:

"This is not an accusation of harassment in the workplace -- this is not an accusation of an assault -- which are subject matters of legitimate inquiry to a political candidate. Rather, this appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults -- a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life."

To be fair, Weiner's private wasn't exactly private.

I honestly don't care if a politician is having an affair, but holy shit, this guy makes Clinton look like Sir Galahad.

It looks like the curtain might be falling on the Cain campaign.
Quote:
“Now, with this latest one, we have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

13 year affair. Wow.

Suppose that'll erode your votes from the 'family values' crowd. Smiley: rolleyes

They used to come from here, but the Asylum's slowed down in recent years! Smiley: glare

It's mostly because it's updated pretty quickly before the other news stations. Likely because they don't do much fact-checking. It's fun to point that out to them when they get something wrong Smiley: nod

Business guy and campaign bundler who was engaged in a semi-scandal with Obama over some real estate. Eventually Obama sat down with the editorial boards of the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times for several hours and just answered questions about it until there wasn't much else to say and the story died.

Rezko was just sentenced on various corruption and bribery charges for 10.5 years.
Chicago Tribune wrote:
Rezko, 56, made a name for himself as a powerful insider and fundraiser, earning a position as one of Blagojevich's top advisers and confidants from early in his administration. He had a knack for cultivating up-and-coming politicians, including state Sen. Barack Obama, who would become president.

Prosecutors portrayed Rezko as a key member of Blagojevich's "kitchen cabinet" who exercised influence over the appointments made by the governor to state boards and commissions. In return, he expected campaign contributions to be made to Blagojevich, the government alleged.

A jury convicted him in 2008 of using his clout with Blagojevich and scheming with Stuart Levine, a longtime Republican political insider, to extort millions of dollars from firms that were seeking state business or regulatory approval.

And in October 2010, Rezko, an immigrant with an American rags-to-riches story to his credit, pleaded guilty to a separate federal fraud charge over the bogus sale of his pizza restaurants. He is still be sentenced for that conviction.
