I know Henry Ford was a **** sympathizer but I'm not sure what that has to do with the topic.

Your having to reach farther and farther to try to make a point makes me more confident in the administration, not less. Which, we all know is your ploy all along. So good job.

If you think Ford has never received government money to remain profitable, you're very naive.

What I read in the article, was that The WH raised quesitons about the ad, Ford pulled before anything could be pushed on them, but alter decided to put the ad back up. I doubt its this clear, but if all you're going to provide is this link, I can't really get outraged.

First blush: it's not a favorable headline. "The big bad guv'ment makes the ickle company change its advertising because it calls out the rulers." On its face that's just not good publicity for the government.

Fortunately Bob gave most people the ability to reason. Getting your panties in a twist about this is like objecting to the arrest of the guy who says "Go kill this guy for me" then turns in the murderer.

I'm not sure how much laudanum you have to consume before you consider Ford a "ickle company" but I'm glad that you're on the forefront of that research, Moe.

Elinda,

Who's debating this? The question you should be asking yourself is do you want your govn threatening private companies who choose to stand against what they've done.

Do you have some evidence that Ford was threatened?

Right, but the fact that you misspelled a word and failed to apply correct grammar in your reply added to the general silliness of your statement (which, it should be noted, was pretty silly to begin with).

The silliness is in that it wasn't the wrong word for the sentence. Smiley: laugh

Ford Motor Company decided to pull a television advertisement critical of the auto industry bailout following a call from the White House, The Detroit News is reporting. But the automaker moved quickly to deny the story Tuesday, posting to Facebook that the ad has simply been phased out of rotation as scheduled.

Daniel Howes, a conservative columnist for the News, said that the company decided to pull the ad after a call from the White House.
[...]
But Howes did not say that the administration had asked specifically for the ad to be pulled and quoted an industry source that said that the automaker was not pressured. Ford flatly denied the report.

"For those asking, the ad ran as part of a planned rotation and continues to run online. It contains the unscripted comments of a Ford owner. We supported emergency government support for our competitors and continue to support the decisions we made," Ford said in the statement.

Conspiracy!
