This latest from that irreputable and shady Zionist-Tri-Lateral Commssion cabal intent on enslaving free thinking and liberal minds everywhere, The European Organization for Nuclear Research or more commonly known as CERN:

"The first results from the lab's CLOUD (C[/b[osmics [b]Leaving OUtdoor Droplets) experiment published in Nature today confirm that cosmic rays spur the formation of clouds through ion-induced nucleation. Current thinking posits that half of the Earth's clouds are formed through nucleation. The paper is entitled Role of sulphuric acid, ammonia and galactic cosmic rays in atmospheric aerosol nucleation.

This has significant implications for climate science because water vapour and clouds play a large role in determining global temperatures. Tiny changes in overall cloud cover can result in relatively large temperature changes."

Huh. Whuddayaknow. The sky isn't falling, heating up or doing anything it hasn't done since..., well, forever, despite what that bloated sex poodle Algore and the rest of the enviromental crazies poutraged over supposed the manmade global warming changes have claimed.

Like I have said from the beginning, climate change is a political Lefty power and money grab meant to cow undiscerning and easily manipulated people into accepting subjegation by their new radical Left overlords.

Further evidence that the environmental policies and "green" jobs plank of this adminstration and the party it represents are a money grabbing boondoggle and a political powergrab meant to line the pockets of corrupt politicians such as our illustrious president, Uncle Bammy and the Hezbollah-wing (Left) of the Democtatic Party.

Umm, thanks for nothing, you American dream crushing, job destroying, sure-to-turn-any-leadpipe-mortal-lock-on-a-winning-thing-into-a-surefire-loser Hah-vad educated buffoon. Even the support of 97% of American blacks/automatons this next election isn't going to give you a second term. Your presidency is nothing short of a Biblically epic disaster, financially. Half a bil. Gone.

This, according to ABC news (astounding that they actually bothered to report something negative about their savior!):

Did Obama Administration Cut Corners For a Green Energy Company?

The Obama administration bypassed procedural steps meant to protect taxpayers as it hurried to approve an energy loan guarantee to a politically-connected California solar power startup, ABC News and the Center for Public Integrity's iWatch News have learned.

The Energy Department in March 2009 announced its intention to award Solyndra Inc. a $535 million loan guarantee before receiving final copies of outside reviews typically used to vet such deals. An independent federal auditor who has reviewed the energy loan program said moving so quickly without completing thorough reviews risked exposing the program to claims of political influence and put taxpayers at greater risk.

"There's a consequence if you don't follow a rigorous process that's transparent," said Franklin Rusco, an analyst with the Government Accountability Office. "It makes the agency more susceptible to outside pressures, potentially."

...........

The loan guarantee, the administration's first for a clean energy project, benefited a company whose prime financial backers include Oklahoma oil billionaire George Kaiser, a "bundler" of campaign donations. Kaiser raised at least $50,000 for the president's 2008 election effort.

Several political allies of the president have ties to companies receiving Energy Department loans, grants or loan guarantees. For instance, the venture firm of another top Obama bundler, Steve Westly, has financially supported companies that won more than half a billion dollars in energy grants and loans during President Obama's time in office, iWatch News and ABC News reported in March. Relatively few applicants succeed in winning such benefits. The Energy Department said every one of those awards was won on merit.

...............

Energy Secretary Steven Chu promised Solyndra's package alone would create more than 4,000 jobs.

Yet another "shovel ready" failure from "the most transparent administration in history." Niiiiice.

Someone made a global warming quip at a labor day BBQ, and totem left his printouts in the car.

Now he seems to have exploded here.

Better luck next time :(

I'm just trying to illuminate the dimly lit world you occupants of the Asylum live. Knowing this from close observation that this is a dark bastion of liberal mindedness and Lefty bonhomie where secret handshakes and groupthink occur, I thought it would be beneficial to shed some light on the terrible errors in thinking each of you have engaged in.

Sadly, I seem to have grabbed the intellectual flash/bang grenade instead of the WP and further blinded you instead. My apologies.

However, I realise that you'd much rather I said "I grabbed my willy pete" for chuckles, but this is too serious a subject for such frivolous levity. Obama's utter lack of deftness or skill in both the financial or political ring is no laughing matter. Instead he is our country's King Anti-Midas whose only talent is ruination.

You wonder why we never believe any of your conservative ideas? Because whenever any one of you has a point to make you come in here spouting off like an Asperger's child who's been snorting lines for three days and reading conspiracy blogs. You're all f*cking whacko, and on the internet that says troll. Try engaging in a little deep breathing before you type a post, and see if the response you get is any different.

So the hundreds of published studies linking human activities to global warming are all junk but a newspaper article referencing a study that had a conclusion which may have some impact on future research is gospel truth that anthropogenic global warming is all a hoax?

Well! That's certainly some rigorous and non-politically minded thought you've put into it there, Totem. Way to show everyone up Smiley: laugh

It's almost worth that to know that Uncle 'old-boy' Sam is still ferociously clinging to the teats of the oil companies. Let the dam Europeans have that new-fangled solar stuff.

That there's your problem. Assuming the liberals that frequent this forum can think for themselves is a grand assumption.

I haven't been here whole heartedly in a while and I forgot how wildly tangential his view of a given article could be.

The irony is that temperature increases are the least noticeable/problematic symptom of climate change. Even if half of clouds do form because of this system, that doesn't actually mean jack for temperatures, which are hugely dynamic.

The point is to look at the sum of global thermodynamic energy in the atmosphere. Pro-tip-- A desert at 100 degrees and a rainforest at 100 degrees are the same temperature. But there's WAY more energy in the rainforest's atmosphere.

Uh...
1. 38% isn't "nearly 50%" in most mathematical circles. Rounding up is fun, amirite?
2. It is estimated that half of all Americans will have a mental illness at some point in their lives. So it looks like we're actually worse than Europeans.

In other news, the editor-in-chief of Remote Sensing, the journal that published the article Varus was all atwitter about a few months ago, has resigned. He said the paper had numerous methodological and factual errors and should have never been published. He also protested the way certain media outlets hyped it up way over its actual claims.

The guy's resignation letter makes this apropos remark as well:
Quote:
But trying to refute all scientific insights into the global warming phenomenon just based on the comparison of one particular observational satellite data set with model predictions is strictly impossible. Aside from ignoring all the other observational data sets (such as the rapidly shrinking sea ice extent and changes in the flora and fauna) and contrasting theoretical studies, such a simple conclusion simply cannot be drawn considering the complexity of the involved models and satellite measurements.

Something to remember as some people fall all over themselves praising a single newspaper article's summary of a single scientific study as validation of all their hopes and dreams.
