This is the last weekend we cling to the house to avoid crazed tourists. Next weekend we're going touristing. Smiley: smile

We have 2 big hardwoods and another 4 or 5 smaller ones that went down in last weeks storm. So, our plans for the weekend are to dig them out of the forest, get um cut up and stacked into the firewood pile.

Also, I sold my old car last night so I may have to go shopping. My wardrobe is getting kind of sparse.

Besides clothes though I'm looking for seat covers and an MP3 Player. The fabric on the seats of my Soul is scratchy. I'm thinking about getting a couple of these. Anyone ever used sheepskin car seat covers before? I'm a bit worried about cleaning and upkeep.

Sunday is supposed to be rainy so it may be pickling day.

Well, I've got lots of cucumbers. I made a batch of bread and butter pickles already. So, I might try relish. Or maybe just more pickles.

I've always wanted to try and make a this jelly from Staghorn sumac flowers. They call it Champagne Jelly out here. It's pretty tasty. A couple nights ago when we were out looking at storm damage I collected a bunch of the flowers (they're not really what I'd call flowers but the fuzzy red stuff at the ends of the branches). So, I might try and make a batch. The other thing the staghorn flowers are used for is making sun tea. If I don't feel like canning I might just make some tea. I've already put up 8 jars of chokecherry jam, and I'll make quince jam next month.

I'm not sure what I'm doing this weekend; the weather is highly variable. My brother and sis-in-law are holding a party...Sunday, now, I think. I was supposed to take my family to the Ren Faire Monday, or Saturday, if it's not raining, but now my wife claims she doesn't want to spend the money (?!) and originally I was going to go to an open gym session for parkour/freerunning training, but now I don't even know if I'm going to do that.

Are parkour and free-running the same thing? Are you growing a handlebar Rosco-esque mustachio?

Tonight I'm spending the night at my mom's house. Which means getting drunk and probably playing darts or something.

Tomorrow I have puppy training in the morning with my doggie, then a friend is moving into a new house and invited some people over to hang out after in his new digs.

Sunday there is a "surprise cookout" (which sounds weird) at 11:00 am (which sounds even weirder) for a friend's birthday that I must attend.

Monday I ain't doin' ****.

Haha, no, I'm not going with the handlebars. (and it's Orosco, or NoSole if you're in the practice)

Simply put, the "difference" between parkour and freerunning is that the former focuses on speed and efficiency, whereas the latter is more involved in flips, tricks and flair. I can't do flips (yet; that's what the gym sessions would be for) so what I do is pretty much just parkour. Or, "climbing and jumping around on things" as my wife calls it.

A related story: my wife informed me that our son has taken to jumping off the third step of the staircase in our house; my response was "how is his landing?"

Kids start school next Tuesday so this 3 day weekend is to finish up school shopping. Helping Ray with his homework for Art History. Celebrating my niece's 5th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese (my family really has to learn how to choose a different family-theme restaurant). Remembering my 4 year old nephew who died 3 years ago in a drowning accident. Smiley: frown Labor Day weekend is always tough in my family now.

w00t! Just got back from a vacation, and now I get a three-day weekend! YESSSSS!!

Tonight, playing more LEGO Universe and writing up an article for ZAM. Hey, the beginning is F2P now! Try it!

Tomorrow, going to a spring nearby and then floating down a river for a few hours. May follow it up with spending the afternoon at the pool, we'll see! Should be a good time, and I'm hoping to get some sun (which I totally failed to do on vacation Smiley: glare).

The rest of the weekend: brush up on my resume and look for new potential job openings, and buy a new bike (mine was stolen a few weeks ago). Yay!

And then I work on Monday. Hooray stat pay and 1 1/2 pay.

Four day weekend says "Hi." Making fajita's for dinner now. Going to see .357 String Band tomorrow night for a free show sponsored by some UW related group. Good friends wedding Sunday. Nothing on Monday. Probably going to snag Dead Island on Tuesday.

Things are going well so far this weekend. Smiley: grin

Normally, I would say that wrestling is much more gay than parkour, but then Frosti and Levi put out that video, with the suntan lotion, and well... Smiley: rolleyes

Um, that's the same video. Nice find, but I'm not a fan of the first-person cam, or Eminem.

This weekend we are spending time with the grand kids. Today we will meet them at the Renn Faire and Sunday it's off to the state Fair with young ones in tole.

I need to look at the wood in the back yard and see if we are keeping it for for various projects. I need to get photos of more jewelry taken and up on Etsy. My rotary tool lost a *****, so it's at the shop to be repaired, So I will be using hand tools or just beading for few weeks.I did pick up supplies for wire wrapping, a rubber block and some punches on sale.
