A freemarket Economy REQUIRES a pool of unemployed people at all times to function.

Employers subconsciously select new employees who are taller, thinner, more good looking than the others. They also subconsciously go for people who look like themselves, dress like themselves, are the same sex as themselves and who belong to majority groups, rather than minority groups.

Employers CONSCIOUSLY select AGAINST new employees who come from known poor, "difficult", "troubled" areas, AGAINST people on welfare, or thought to be on welfare, and against ex-cons.

This means that not only is there a permanent unemployed pool, owners and wage-earners conspire unthinkingly to fix things so that it is mostly THE SAME PEOPLE who are never selected for jobs. It is at this juncture that not only the short-term unemployed but the life-long unemployed receive a minimal stipend to cover living expenses, so they don't have to turn to crime. And it is CRITICAL that the children of parents who can never save up get help from the state to improve their lives through high quality free education.
