Obama runs with no experience--conservatives boo and hiss and kick and scream. Cain runs with no experience--conservatives rally behind. It never was about racism, it was about stupidity.

Well, it worked for Dems last time. Maybe it'll work for the Reps this time.

Looking at his website, what exactly do you like about Cain over anyone else? His "issues" are all stock talking points interchangeable with any other GOP candidate and, really, with most any presidential candidate ("We need to carefully review the budget with a red pen!")

So you're gonna support a man who's most infamous act was to kill his brother in cold blood?

I was thinking of making a thread on GOP presidential contenders, but I figured it was too early. Varus saved me the trouble.

Cain is lame. No experience, social conservative, no fiscal plan. Heck, those same things could be applied to Palin (unless you call quitting your elected position "experience"). Santorum also announced he's running: LOL. He can't win on either side - he doesn't believe in the right to privacy, and is the poster-child for "gay means paedophile/bestiality" remarks. Bachmann, ha, no. There are other "big" names (Romney being the largest), but Romney comes with a whole host of issues: his social politics have flip-flopped, his MA insurance program was the groundwork for Obamacare, and he's a Mormon (they're like the "new" Catholic when it comes to born-again Christians' views). Gingrich doesn't have a prayer on either side due to his personal issues and panning Ryan's budget plan. Then there are some I legitimately don't know much about, Perry and Pawlenty.

And of course there's Ron Paul, perennial election loser. Honestly, I probably see eye-to-eye the most with him out of the other candidates, even if he is anti-abortion (in all cases). And truthfully, I think the Tea Party's premises align most closely with him out of any other candidate. Too bad he's crazy.

No you didn't. Just because he's family, doesn't mean you have to support his views. I'm related to LBJ, but I think he was the worst president you guys ever had.

Meh.

Romney won't get the presidential nod, but there's the outside possibility that he'll pick up a VP bid to win over some of those fickle moderates.

Pawlenty is a fairly off-the-shelf conservative who will play well in the bread belt but tank on the coasts; ho-hum.

Daniels is my best guess for the GOP candidate, and he'll get crushed by Obama in the election.

Off the cuff, it'll come down to Romney & Pawlenty.

There's absolutely nothing risky or innovative about me saying that but it is probably true.

Daniels said he won't run which I know isn't anything he can't change but, the longer you wait, the harder it is to find backers who haven't already attached themselves to someone else.

Obama's not going to crush anyone. We could run satan and Obama's record would give satan a fighting chance.

In a world of elections decided by a few percentage points at most, no one will crush anyone. A better way to put it: all of these candidates are inferior and will lose in a national election against Obama.

Put your money where your mouth is; loser buys the winner a month of premium.

I'll make bets that Obama wins the general election by at least (greater than or equal to) 3% of total votes.

Obama crushed McCain in the last election. 7.2% more people, a little shy of ten million voters and, most importantly, 192 more electoral votes.

Not saying it'll happen again but some elections do end in crushing defeats.
