You must have missed the 80's when Edmonton and Calgary won 6 Cups. But ya they are all hurting now, especially since the lockout. Capping Salaries because failed southern US expansions hurt all canadian teams. (the eastern conference ones suck just as bad, Toronto is ***, Ottawa is ***, and Montreal is only in the post season because Price the goalie has bein playing like a demi-god).
As for the latter part of your statement I do as well, if the Canucks burn, then my wings are pretty uncontested until Stanley.

The last two games were a bit of both. Last night's 3 goal first was self-destruction. The 4th goal @ 1:26 in the second was the facial. Tuesday the facial was the 6th goal @ 2:49 in the 4th after the first 5 goals were the self destruct. Gotta question Vigneault leaving Lu in to start a period only to yank him after a quick goal 2 games in a row. Boberto has a history of meltdown, so personally I'd yank him any time he let in 3 unanswered. The Canucks have the firepower to erase 3 goals. I've watched them do it, but 4 is daunting to anyone.
I haven't kept up with hockey since the North Stars were moved to Dallas. grumble...grumble
After the '93 re-alignment, was there really any reason to change the division/conference names? That change seemed to take away some of the uniqueness of hockey compared to the other sports.
I know it's an extremely dated gripe, but living in Japan for the last 18 years has stifled my ability to watch any games.

Anaheim won it just a couple years back, Edmonton and Calgary both went to the finals a few years ago, St. Louis used to be a pretty dominate team. But ya really the only consistent team in the West has been Detroit, which really should be in the East Conference (which is why they get special rules applied to them following west coast swings as part of the deal they made with the reorganization). The west has been a revolving door though, and some teams are just depressing. Other teams are just disappointing. Look at San Jose who should have been in the finals at least 4/5 seasons passed, but always choked on **** in the 2nd or 3rd round, similar to Vancouver.

At some point yes, but we'll likely be driving flying cars and eating meals in pill form when it finally happens.

So not only did the Hawks emotionally hurt Luongo so badly that he sat at the start of game 6, but Frolik faked out Schneider so hard on that penalty shot that he physically hurt him.
Win or lose, this has been one helluva good series.

Def one of the better ones, I think MTL and BOS has been the most exciting but VAN and CHI has be great, hope the hawks win, central division represent!.
