I've got a four day weekend.

I don't have much planned unless the hubby manages to pressure me to go down to CT with him to watch a fight at the big casino. The weather is supposed to be nice here at home so I think he will not succeed.

I will likely be playing some family MMO. My kids conned me into starting a little group. They picked LOTRO as it's free and they're poor. We just started up last night. We're playing on Meneldor as that's where my old original account resides. There are three of us. If anyone is interested in joining in give me a shout.

I've got a three-day weekend, as I'm taking Monday off (w00t!). My sister is visiting from NYC and we're going out with a bunch of people tonight. Tomorrow we're going to head to a lake, Sunday and Monday hanging out with the entire family. Going to be a great time Smiley: smile Just need to make it through work today, haha.

Still recovering from illness. Hopefully will be well enough to spend my first weekend in over a year with my family and go out and reintegrate with society.

We're still settling in to the new apartment. Gotta do some paperwork, painting, organize our junk, and wall-mount the TV. Busy busy.

If I get some free time I'd like to do something with my nixie tube clock.

I'm taking next week off for the purposes of trout harrasment. Too bad I still have to get through the rest of today though. After that, much relaxation shall be had.

I don't like the concrete. If it were me, I'd do something to mix some very old with the very new. Maybe some kind of sundial design.

Yeah, as I mentioned in that thread, I'm leaning more towards hydrocal, which I've worked with before. You can actually do some neat stuff with it. Been thinking about putting a colorizing agent in it late, to give it a marbled look. I know that if I use a really smooth material for the mold (like plastic), it should come out with a real glossy finish, too. I think it could look real nice.

OoT is big on the steampunk aesthetic, but I just don't think I've got the time that'd be requisite to make that look good. As I said, busy busy!

As tomorrow is the 150th anniversary of the Pratt Street Riot Parade and the annual Pirate Invasion of Fells Point, Jonwin and I will be both busy, though not likely to see each other but in passing tomorrow.

He has an overnight at work and so has put on his Civil War gentleman outfit from when he was station master at the Civil War museum. On board ship his persona is as an Irishman who join the navy, since the Germans were getting all the railroad jobs now. So he been wondering which side he will take during the riot. I heard him which sides in the middle of a sentence, so who knows were he end up by the end of the day.

If either of make it to the Pub crawl in Fells Point with friends of ours. I hope to introduce my middle child to our friend, who works as an Captain, on the pirate ship that sails the harbor.

Actually have a weekend off. It's only 2 days for me. My rotating schedule gives me a weekend once every seven weeks. Going to head into Austin and check on my main comp. Windows got corrupted again and it needed work done that I can't do. Maybe eat lunch at Chuy's also.

I have a three day weekend myself, It's nice. Picked up a new cell phone, ATT Atrix. I miss the keyboard, but their phones with keyboards all sucked this time. So, if anyone has any good android programs, let me know.

rest of the weekend will be a mix of house projects and fun of some sorts. Maybe a movie or something? I dunno yet.

took the helicopters out for a spin this morning. Had a few people come over to watch, which was fun. Only casualty of the day was the little MSR, which took a hit near the ground when the wind picked up suddenly. its fixable though. Was the first time I've had the larger Hornet helicopter out in a while, and the first flight of the Walkera 4G6, so that was fun. The MCPX still lacks a radio, so it had to stay home all by itself.

My vegitable garden seems to be starting to sprout things, so I should have fresh peas soon. also the blueberry bushes have thingies on them again, so thats good

4 day weekend here.. I'll be spending most of it moving as my apartment flooded while I was out of the country... On the bright side, I was almost thinking about doing some Spring Cleaning in the old apartment, now I'm moving into a "clean" apartment. Fortunately, all of my weekends are 4 days until I start my next class... Yay for TRADOC!

Oooo... I was just looking into that phone as a second line about an hour ago... I think I might wait a little longer to see what else is available. I miss the keyboards as well!

I've been busy the last few days with a restaurant/retail store we're opening. Been really busy lately actually. Spent 3 weeks in NY opening a new Crowne Plaza hotel and then this restaurant, so I haven't had a day off in almost 4 weeks. Today, I'm running errands and tomorrow, sitting my *** down and relaxing.

Sister and cousin took me out for a belated birthday dinner and drinks since it was the first time we were all in town since my actual birthday. Had a great time.

Now I get to go on a date tonight, woot! Sunday is homework ¬_¬ but yesterday and today kick sufficient quantities of *** to more than make up for it.

I'm still missing the keyboard, but the phone is so much faster than any I have used before, i'm willing to live with it for now. If you do get one, don't get the otter box case for it, that case won't fit in the car dock or the home dock, and its nearly impossible to take the case off. The application manager isn't really configured by default either, so until you go in and set the "turn this application off eventually" flag, your battery life will suck even in standby mode. Afther that though its pretty decent, and really, really fast. I haven't managed to find anything that can bog it down so far.

The onscreen keyboard works pretty well. For some reason I tend to personally have a difficult time with capacitive touchscreen devices recogizing my fingers, I guess I have a weak electrical field or something. Anyways, this one does a better job than most, but i'm still having to retype the occasional letter.

I think if someone makes a bluetooth slide out keyboard like the one that thinkgeek had for the iphone, I'd probably buy it. I also really wish this thing had a powermat charger. Aside from that, I'm liking it so far.

I had a all touch screen phone a couple years ago and hated it. Having a keyboard is now prerequisite for me. That's why I picked up the Motorola Droid 2 instead of the X. The X has a larger screen, is a bit thinner, and has a much better camera, but without a keyboard it just wasn't for me. My phone is ridiculous though, I was without a computer for a few months, and the phone was damn near a full on replacement.

Anyway, you asked for apps, the most useful one I have now is the Amazon market. Not because they have a better selection than the Android market, but because every day they offer a free paid app. I've picked up all sorts of goodies that I would ordinarily not have due to my innate cheapness.

Since I entered the world of smartphones on a Blackberry I love that keyboard. When I upgrade I'm thinking that I will still need a keyboard. My workphone is a touchscreen with a slider; I almost never use the onscreen keyboard. The Torch still looks pretty nice to me.

if ATT had a decent android phone with a keyboard, I would have got it. as is, I seriously considered switching because of the lack, and i didn't mainly because verizon pissed me off about 7 years ago and I swore never to use them again.

Ironically, the amazon market is blocked on all ATT android phones at the moment. Its the one app they seem to be preventing me from sideloading too. Which is annoying because today they have Trillian listed as a free app, and thats what I use for Allakhazam IRC, so would be really useful to have free. Basically proving the point that ATT is trying to be more evil than verizon now. I blame the Iphone. Before they had to deal with all those apple pricks, they used to be pretty good about getting fast new phones and keeping their customers at least short of a frothing rage about things.

That's what I have, the Torch. I love having both a touch screen and a physical keyboard.

I've got an original droid. Picked it up in large part due to its physical keyboard, and I'm quite happy with that aspect of it; it gets a ton of use. Never been a fan of on-screen keyboards.
