A recent study suggests that drinking coffee prevents breast cancer breast cancer in a specific group of women: those who have the BRCA1 mutation. The genetic mutation puts women at a higher risk of developing breast cancer.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance and National Cancer Institute sponsored a study in which researchers compared answers to a survey about coffee consumption against the medical records of 1,690 women who have the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genetic mutations. Compared to women who did not drink coffee at all, those who had 1 to 3 cups of coffee per day reduced the risk of breast cancer by 10%. That doesn't seem all that impressive, but take a look at the serious java junkies: women who drank 4 to 5 cups of coffee reduced their risk by 25% and women who drank 6+ cups of coffee per day reduced their risk by a whopping 69%.

I think there are some days I drink six cups of coffee by...lunch.

I know you gals love your coffee, so drink up.

If I worked at Starbucks I'd offer complimentary mammograms, because the proof is in the pudding.

I don't like coffee either! good thing I'm a dude so I don’t need to worry about the whole breast cancer deal. come to think about it I don't like a lot of popular vices. No alcohol, tobacco, weed, coffee or drugs of any kind. I'm only addicted to games and sex, what’s wrong with me!

About 1% of our BC patients are men.

They ususally come off worse than girlies 'cause most don't routinely check their men-bewbs, so present too late to be helped.

This may jeopardize BT's offering of complimentary breast exams at Starbucks...

I knew men could get breast cancer, but I was pertaining to the coffee/cancer article as it was talking about only women with the mutated BRCA genes blah blah.

I did pay some attention in health class after all. Although walking around school with puke green paper with a huge detailed ****** on one side and a ***** on the back for homework was less than fun. I think they did it on purpose

However, coffee can cause small fibroid tumors to develop. They are lumpy enough to feel, or for say, your boyfriend to feel, and they have to be removed surgically.

And that hurts.
