If you're looking to create a niche store, forget about carrying the staples that all the big stores already stock. If people want Seargent Pepper, everyone knows they can pick that up at Best Buy any day of the week. Use your space for the titles that you're hoping people are coming to you're store specifically to find.

You know, that is a hard one. I have thought long and hard about it, and I agree. One issue is that this town doesn't have a record store at all. There was one, but the guy got tired and just quit a few weeks ago. That's why we are suddenly talking about going into the business. You either have to order offline or drive an hour into Memphis to find a big store. We will be able to place orders for people for sure, so that will help. I am just hoping that in 1500 CD's I can get as many "old favorites" like Sgt. Pepper as I can. I would go into this other small record store looking for stuff like that and be pissed that I couldn't find it and had to wait to go to Memphis.

I'm just going to make this list and see what happens I guess.

Alot of these are great selections, and it helps. Some of them (haha, won't mention who) has reminded me that I -have- to look at music that I wouldn't be caught dead listening to myself.

Indulge me. Smiley: lol

Smiley: inlove Yeah, Beck is great. I don't know why, but I left Sea Change off my list. That should definetely get in there.

MMMM Sparklehorse - Good Morning Spider. Great album! Well anything by Sparklehorse, including the EPs. Cant wait for the new album this year.

and Flaming lips pretty much their whole back catalogue is golden. New Album isnt too bad either.

However I dont get how you could quote ICP in your sig and listen to sparklehorse, polyphoic spree, and flaming lips. That is almost a contradiction in taste right there.

Have you heard the album he did with Isobel Campbell (of Belle and Sebastian)? It is quite nice! Well anything Isobel Campbell does is nice.

Didn't see any Stevie Wonder or James Brown in list.
Gorillaz - Demon Days as previously mentioned.
Foo Fighters - There is nothing left to lose.
Ray Charles - Anything.......
Beastie Boys - 5 Boroughs or Hello Nasty

They would be some of my essential albums/artists I would like to see in a shop.
