We've always had them (user=x), they just didn't show us until now.

I goota believe that when you change your name you get assigned a new number. Mine should be much lower.

That was actually for my own benefit on poster.html ... you've always had an ID, you just have to look in your By: line link to get it.

But the question is Danalog, what are you doing with our ID numbers? If Kelvy has another chip in his head he will probably snap Smiley: laugh

I believe Kelvy's ID number is 0 because he posts from nothing.

Because I was trying to do user admin, and I had used the name= functionality of poster.html (example: a godraiden account), and found it didn't actually give me the user ID on the page, so I added it.

Do those ids go back to the first boards as well? Or do they start from when you put up these new ones?

they don't include the UBB numbers. The ID numbers started with the origional item comment system which predates this forum by about 2 years.

I'm not sure wat my origional UBB ID was because the origional kaolian account suffered irreperable corruption on UBB nad had to be replaced, so that number whihc was up in the 100k's was not the origional.

The IDs start from the first day that Alla let you register, so you could post comments on EQ items, etc. I signed up on that first day, so I have a really low number. I wouldn't even work for Alla for like 2 anf a half years after that, so it's not because I'm an admin =)
