So I just got back from Russel Peters, fu[/Cyan]cking comedy gold(as eldy would say), except it actually WAS. He's touring the states and cities across Canada and I strongly recommend you buy tickets.

Anyway, there were 5 comedians - one Japanese guy sort of crash and burned but the others all did well. The host, Scott and of course Russel were the best. He was talking about how white the song "YMCA" is, then he said, "Can you imagine a Chinese guy doing the fu[Aliceblue]
cking YMCA, in Chinese?" (Maybe one of those had to be there - because of course he acted them out.) For the most part he picked out people from the audience - usually depending upon race - and basically made fun of them for a few minutes.

Anyway, I'm on a high. Good show, good night - fun!

Never heard of him, but I do enjoy me a good standup act. I hope someday soon I get to see one live but we only get concerts here. more stadiums(3 in less than a mile) than stages.

Link to short clip.

Not my favorite skit of his, however, seems to be one of the more popular.

He's good, I like his style of humor. If I had my pick of anyone though I'd love to see Lewis Black, I love that guy.

NWS Cold

Edit for safty, lots of F-bombs but in a well done manner

Yeah going to see stand up is great. I've never heard of that guy but I'll be sure to get that clip and listen when I get home (no speakers at work :s).
I'd never been to see any stand up before. But I've been going more and more lately and they great. If they're good you seem to be laughing for a day or two afterwards :P
Best I've seen like would have to be Arj Barker. Seen him twice live and almost wet my pants both times.

I'd like to see Denis Leary. He swears almost as much as Lewis Black, and his comedy is less politically motivated.

I loved how after the Japanese guy did his bit about "retarded **** industry," Peters acknowledged how the audience just "fu[Darkcyan][/Darkcyan]cking stared at him" as he was going through the various movie titles.

If you guess some of the ones he listed -- 100 points. And pie.

3d17- A couple of the other comedians I would love to see live, Dane Cook, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I highly recommend seeing Steven Lynch live. Best comedy performance I've ever seen, hands down.

The only live standup I think I have ever seen was George Carlin. If you count Henry Rollins spoken word then hey I guess you can throw that in their to.

I'm not sure he still does stand up, but I find Billy Connolly freakin' hilarious.

Chris Rock's last foray was not as funny as his first two. I saw him live here in Tampa. Still a good time, but I would have rather seen Bigger and Blacker or Bring the Pain.

My recommendations for good stand-up:

Dave Chappelle
Robert Schimmel
Dane Cook
Denis Leary
Bill Engvel
Steven Lynch
Steven Wright
Larry Miller

and one of my favorites

Eddie Izzard. THAT guy is comedy gold.

I saw Russel Peters back in college when we had Yuk Yuks night (Wednesdays) at our pub. He was good back then and had a similar act. I think he's been working that theme for a good 10 years now.
