In the tradition of Bill "I never harassed that wo--what? she has audio? Pay her off!" O'Reilly comes the close of the Rush Limbaugh prescription fraud suit...
The AP wrote:

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rush Limbaugh and prosecutors in the long-running prescription drug case against him reached a deal Friday calling for the only charge against the conservative commentator to be dropped without a guilty plea if he continues treatment.

Limbaugh turned himself in to authorities on a warrant filed Friday charging him with fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions, said Teri Barbera, a spokeswoman for the Palm Beach County Jail. He and his attorney Roy Black left about an hour later, after Limbaugh was photographed and fingerprinted and he posted $3,000 bail, Barbera said.

Prosecutors' three-year investigation of Limbaugh began after he publicly acknowledged being addicted to pain medication and entered a rehabilitation program. They accused Limbaugh of "doctor shopping," or illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions, after learning that he received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion.

Limbaugh, who pleaded not guilty Friday, has steadfastly denied doctor shopping. Black said the charge will be dismissed in 18 months if Limbaugh complies with court guidelines.
[...]
As a primary condition of the dismissal, Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past 2 1/2 years, Black said. Among other provisions, he also has agreed to pay the state $30,000 to defray its investigative costs, Black said.
Sounds like innocence to me!

meh, I hate everything that is AM radio. Talk stations are all that my grandpa and step dad listen to and it drives me fucking crazy to listen to these people and their callers babble about dumb shit all day. more over they usually net you by saying somethign that the majority agrees with then get all loopy and start with the crazy non-sense talk.

on my old car I switched the dial to FM and broke it off so it could never be changed back.

Limbaugh is about as passe' as Wee Willie Clinton is these days. Neither of them have any relevance to today's political landscape.

This might be considered rant-ish, or irrelevant, but I feel like I have to say this...this topic has been a point of high emotion in my life for awhile.
I have had a chronic pain dystrophy for over a decade & can tell you that even when what you have is classified as more painful than cancer/the most painful chronic disorder man currently knows of, it is incredibly hard to get painkillers of any kind, narcs or not.
I cannot understand in any way, shape or form how this man was prescribed so many pills... or at least, without someone noticing, unless people intentionally averted their eyes because he was "famous."
Throughout the years I have had all sorts of problems getting any kind of pain medication (though doctors were/are willing to stick an implant into my spine) & it really f*cks it up for the real patients when someone high profile (no pun intended) gets caught out being an addict. The reason pain pills are so regulated is to try & keep this sh*t from happening! But, because someone is famous, all the regulations & rules go out the window?
Personally, I think he should have both his legs broken into a billion pieces, then left to heal that way, so he can be a chronic pain patient & have to go through the struggle to find medication that works, a doctor that will prescribe it instead of trying "new" (read: radical & untried) treatments or to even find medicines you can afford. Although, because he is considered "famous," he may just be able to pick his habit back up that way.
Anyway, had to throw in my 2¢ on this... especially since many doctors I have seen over the years are more willing to do an invasive procedure that has a very small chance of working rather than prescribe a young woman pain killers. Supposedly, I'm a risk for addiction due to my age or something f*cked like that....

Doc's wont give you pain meds?
Have a joint!
Here, I promise, it's actually safer than the chemical coctail you were trying to get a prescription for.
And you know what? It's probably less addicting, too.

That's my stance, too. I'd rather be a pothead than a pill-popper. I've still got a bottle each of painkillers and muscle relaxers, and refill orders for both, for my sciatica but almost never take them. Now that the area is dry, thanks to a huge 4/20 bust in Massena, I may start downing them again.

Still, it's funny when he has the balls to be morally outraged by all manner of things except for his complete inability to keep his own word or be transparent about his own failings.
Comedy gold.
