Worst Songs EverFollow

#52 Apr 23 2006 at 8:06 AM Rating: Good
This songs pretty bad. It's Country, by Dan Baird

I love You Period

Back when I was goin' to school,
I never learned a thing
All I did was daydream,
a-waitin' for the bell to ring
I had a certain teacher,
I always tried to impress her
When she stood up in the classroom,
I would mentally undress her
Then one day I decided,
that I would write a little letter
She said the spellin' was a masterpiece,
the punctuation could be better
I understood what she was saying,
I got the gist of her sentiment
She said "I don't mean to be degrading,
"but here's the way that it should've went:"

Chorus) I love you period
Do you love me question mark
Please, please exclamation point
I want to hold you in parentheses
I love you period
Do you love me question mark
Please, please exclamation point
I want to hold you in parentheses

Right on up to high school,
people said I was a writin' fool
All my letters became really great,
with punctuation that was never late
But I was havin' trouble meetin' girls,
I never knew the things to say
Soon I had 'em all overwhelmed,
when they heard me talk this way, like this:

Chorus) I love you period
Do you love me question mark
Please, please exclamation point
I want to hold you in parentheses
I love you period
Do you love me question mark
Please, please exclamation point
I want to hold you in parentheses

See? Bad.

There's a song out, for about a month now. I don't know the name of it, or who sings it. It's techno, has the Tainted Love beat, and sung by a woman with an annoylingly, grating voice. Please tell me who it is so I can have a target for my hatred.

What about the "Macarena" or anything sung by William Shatner

The Macerana. Both for the song and the stupid dance that seems to attract drunk, fat and middle aged women to the dance floor for what can only be described as an organised fit.

Shatner doesn't sing, he speaks.

I heard that one yesterday. One of my friends who doesn't have any musical taste was listening to it. And when I mentioned that it was ripped off of 'Tainted Love', she adamantly denied it.

It always makes me sad that people can just take the core of a popular older song and just tack on some other vocals to it and market it as a new tune. What's sadder is that kids today listen to it and think that the new "artist" wrote it, and that they're really talented.

I remember about eight years or so ago, some rapper did that with "Every Breath You Take" by The Police, changing the lyrics in an "homage" to deceased friends. And everyone thought it was just the best song ever.

Personally, I wouldn't feel very honored if the "homage" a friend chose to make to me was basically to rip off someone else's song and change the lyrics up a little.

But then, this is coming from someone who thinks covers in general are of de debil. In attempting to recreate a song, usually you are destroying the very thing that made it special in the first place -- the way the original artist performed it. 9 times out of 10, it's the singer, not the song.

He's taking a shatner!

I went to the Long Beach Gran Prix about two weekends ago. William Shatner was one of the guest celebrity racers. He was also the only one to wreck his car. WTG Bill!

That's a good song.

I guess some people are aurally offended by Linda Perry's vocal acrobatics or something, which is why they don't like her or Alanis Morisette. Whereas I find them unique and interesting.

I didn't really like Alanis' "Jagged Little Pill" but I can't seem to take her other albums out of my cd player. I guess it's an acquired taste.

I don't care for the lyrical content either. It's a little too Kumbyah for my taste.

It's tops on my list right now because the radio station my coworkers listen to plays it at least twice in a ten hour shift, sometimes more.

It's begun to grate more than a little.

I heard the worst song of all-time on VH1 Classic this weekend.

"Method of Modern Love" by Hall & Oates

I believe love will always be the same
Ways and means are the parts subject to change
M-e-t-h-o-d-o-f-l-o-v-e
It’s a method of modern love

You'd feel differently if the station played "Jazz Police".

I'm trying to download it right now out of morbid curiousity, but it's not working. Perhaps my computer is rejecting it?

Wow, lots of painfully shi[/black]tty songs in this thread.

Limp Bizkit, everything they ever did and the entire "emo" movement, it just can't fu[black]
cking die soon enough.

How about these ***-curdles and their **** of a song "When I See You Smile". It is about as fun as gargling with nitric acid.

Maybe. I'd prefer we go back to bringing CD's but sadly I brought one that had the word f'ck in it once and that ruined it.

If you think "Jazz police" is bad you hear Choen's rendition of "Greensleeves".

That reminds me, anything by Firehouse would fall in this same category.

Has anyone mentionend James Blunt yet?

Well, James Blunt then. Makes me wanna puke my intestines and then eat them again.

Crazy frog? Or was the US spared this horror?

And the Black Eye Peas. "My Humps/lumps/wtvr" is possibly the worst song ever written.

Has anyone mentionend James Blunt yet?

And Take That are reforming.

Has anyone mentionend James Blunt yet?

I quite like his music. Finally something that sounds different than Emo rock and that horrible pop music.
