"A rarele condsidered option is to simply forgive the ruling elite. Strike an agrement granting complete amnesty, in exchange for a total end to the incarceration and abuse of all political prisoners, full disclosure of all information that has been concealed, and the diversion of the bulk of thier fortunes in projects designed to improve conditions for all mankind, using all available technology. It might be worth it to them, not having to constantly be on guard against their victimized public, and each other. People do enjoy life more when they dont have to lie and worry about getting caught all the time.
Just acknowledge that they won the game they've been playing, where the goal was to concentrate control of the planet into as few hands as possible, by any means available. They got us, they proved they could pull it off and get away with it, so let's congratulate the winners like good sports and start a new game with a more interesting goal we can all get into, like make Earth a paradise for everybody."

I don't know who Waves Forrest is, but I would guess he is in the 7th grade based on that quote.

I never really thought of sushi as an item with much of a shelf life. Did you refridgerate it, or is it just kind of festering in your lunch purse?

Is that Ace Wasabi's Rock-n-Roll Sushi, in San Fran?

Or perhaps Tex Wasabi's Southern BBQ and California Style Sushi, in Santa Rosa?

edit cause the link was double posted.

I saw on some news program or maybe The Daily Show yesterday that Wal-Mart is opening an upscale Mega-Boutique which will have fresh sushi, presumably made by a Japanese man, even. I don't know, I think even if I was rural and unsophisticated I'd probably have trouble buying sushi at a subsidiary of Wal=Mart.

no, just Wasabi. I refer to it as if the owner's name was Wasabi and it was his place. Whatever strokes your goat.

Anyway, its also a pain in the **** to go downtown where the place is and we've got some sort of lunch for a co-worker today. At least it won't be crappy mexican.

Ahhh, Red Snapper. Verrrry tasty.

You can hold on to your red snapper... or you can go for what's in the box. What's it gonna be?

I had eel for the first time the other night with a lady friend. She was too nervous to try it first so I played the man and bit off a little chunk which quickly slithered down my throat in a most disconcerting way. Being the poker player I am, I held a straight face and even exclaimed a little "ooh!", all the while fighting the gag reflex. Deciding it was safe enough, she took a bte of her own and experienced the same result. It's funny to fool your date into eating something slippery and then watching her reaction.

There is a nice place right across the street from my office. Sushi Japan. They offer a varity of Bento Box (sp) lunches. I usually get the sushi/sashimi box. 6 pcs of sushi 6 pcs of sashimi, california roll, salad, miso soup and fruit for $15.00.

I usually treat myself once a month. I would say that Sake (salmon) Sashimi is my favorite.

I like rolls and sushi too though. Oddly enough, I never really liked fish until I tried it raw.

Too obvious, even for you.

My sushi was the standard supermarket pre-packaged kind. The SO had half and was kind enough to save some for me. Even though the rice was kind of hard from being opened and then refrigerated again, I'm not picky. It did what it was meant to do: Give me something ricey, avocadoey and shrimpy to smear wasabi on.

Try California rolls. You'll love 'em. Everything in them is cooked, and they are like sushi 101. FYI, sushi is cooked, sashimi is not.

??? Sushi is raw too isn't it? I was under the impression that Sushi is just Sashimi on a bed of rice and possibly some seaweed. Rolls are the Americanized version, which can also have raw fish. Sashimi is just raw fish with no extras.

Sashimi : slab o' raw fish.

Sushi : slab o' raw fish on a bed of rice.

Maki : a roll. Some have raw fish inside, some do not. Most are made with a flat bed of rice topped by a layer of seaweed with the fishy goods in the middle; the thing is rolled up and cut into serving-sized pieces.

Tempura : battered, fried in light oil.

Some variations you'll find are seaweed only rolls (such as white seaweed rolls - delicious, try one, they melt in your mouth) or those funky green seaweed cones that some sushi places serve.

If you're afraid of raw fish : Try a shrimp tempura roll. The shrimps are cooked and taste lovely with the rice.

If you're afraid of shrimp : California roll. Imitation crab meat, some cucumber, some avacado usually - about as inoffensive as it gets.

If you're just starting out : I'd recommend trying Salmon and Tuna, they're the bottom end of the Sushi world and are generally pleasing to most everybody. Salmon is quite pretty to look at, also.

Personal fav : Live scallop.

Live scallop? Hmmmm ... I've never tried that. I've tried a lot of different variations of raw fish too.

I do hate oysters. Oyster shooters are the nasty. Like a snot rocket in a glass.
