We both know that in the middle of the night it's your turn to take care of the baby. Therefore, you do not have time to drive 60 miles to my house.

Brain worms!!!

While you're surely right that not everyone has gotten the word, the medical profession and hopefully most women of childbearing age know that if you're pregnant you don't want to get near cat *****. The problem is the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii, for which cats are the principal host. The microscopic parasites reproduce in the cat's gut, the eggs are excreted, and by a process I'm not about to describe the critters wind up in your brain and muscles, where they create tiny cysts, leading to a condition known as toxoplasmosis. Unpromising as this sounds, the symptoms of toxoplasmosis are generally mild to nonexistent in adults, which is good, because roughly a third of all humans are infected, with the rate in some tropical countries approaching 100 percent.

Today's a great day.

I went to bed early but forgot to set my alarm. So I was an hour late for work, which means I have to stay an hour late to make up lost time. Then I find out I made a mistake on some work I did yesterday, so I had to fix that.

Oh, and my puppy pissed in the kitchen while I was getting ready for work.

I took the day off of work and got doped up on Xanax to go to the dentist. Arrived at the dentist's office at 10:00 AM and was told that I had no appointment today. My appointment was apparently for next Monday but I was sure it was today.

So, I wasted a vacation day and I'm too spaced out to enjoy it. I've mostly just been sleeping, which is kinda good I guess.

However, it's a sunny day and although ugly to look at, I have a window. YAY!!!

I hate you. Nothing like walking into work, where I'm in the basement I might add, and seeing it sunny as hell 75 degrees. No windows aside from three six inch high ones that open out into the branch office. I can see the sun reflecting off the escalators so it must still be nice. f[black][/black]uck Smiley: cry

I took the scenic route to work as it was such a beautiful morning, and arrived fashionably late. I opened an email apologising that payroll had miscalculated my March paycheck. My 14% raise had accidentally been backdated to October 2005, when it should have been backdated to October '04. Would I accept their apologies and confirmation of a rather hefty transfer into my bank account.
Nobby smiled at this point

Formal announcement was released today that the Gubberment is rationalising us from 28 organisations down to 10 (we knew, but the press hullabaloo was mighty and it wasn't nice to be reminded). 68% redundancies (Oh Noez!)
Nobby's smile faded somewhat

Invited to lunch by the boss. We're merging with our 2 neighbouring Authorities. (My role is currently replicated in the other 2.) Would I be interested in assuming responsibility across the 3? - We can talk salary later. (Hell Yeah).

I then finished early for my Easter break.

Oh, and my friend's PA told him she thinks I'm cute and asked if I'm single. She looks like a taller version of Rachael Weisz. Smiley: inlove

Nobby had a good day.

Got up on time but wandered aimlessly for most of the period where I'm normally getting ready for work. Skipped breakfast, ran red lights, ignored stop signs and thanked Mary, mother of Jesus that there are no pedestrians who matter at 1:50AM; made it to work 5 minutes early.

Ducked out of work at 7:30, headed over to the clinic anf let the lady put a needle that missed its calling in life by not becoming part of the Alaskan pipeline into my arm. Sat patiently while my lifeblood drained out into a couple of containers and experienced a "bad moment" when she pulled out the 3rd one. Filled that one too, but I was seriously considering making a break for the door if a 4th appeared. Popped back into work about 10, made up for lost time. Called it a day about 5, stopped off for a bite on the way home and wound upmputting 90% of it in a togo box.

Removed the bandage and made mental note to shave arm or bleed to death next time.

Gathered laundry, decided to put it off until tomorrow. Stared blankly at PC screen for a while. Called female person. Babbled for a while so she knows I care. Ate some chocolate to get energy. Removed cat claw from shin. Discussed health advantages of not putting claw into shin with cat. Booted nonchalant cat from shin-claw negotiations. Brief nap. Evicted cat from lap. Walked dog, experienced inner joy that dog chose to back into bushes to **** thereby eliminating all urges in me to clean up dog ****. Realized that putting Tom on tap makes Tom into a tired puppy. Short nap. Short nap.

Time for bed.
