I now own a carpet steamer. That was the final drop into old age (I already crochet and enjoy a nice game of cribbage if I have the time).

As boring as an old fart can be, it's no less boring than anything else on this forum this morning. Some of you young whipper snappers need to post something exciting.

My birthday was in February, but I didn't really feel all that old until owning a carpet steamer. It's just one of those purchases that make you really feel more like a grown up than you want to.

I think maybe I'll have gummi-worms for lunch or something. Yeah...gummi-worms and a milkshake.

Nothing too exciting to speak of here, either.

I had a pretty terrible weekend. I hosted a black prospective student who's probably coming to our college next year, as part of a diversity recruitment initiative at our school. It was my job to give him a place to stay, then take him to a bunch of events and such.

Problem was, I really had no business doing anything this weekend, let alone running all over the place for this program, because I'm sick as ALL HELL. I really burned myself out.

I was doing it as a favor for my ex-girlfriend who's active in the campus diversity programs, but I have a feeling that its a favor that's going to go unnoticed. And I basically killed my weekend doing this stuff, on top of probably making myself even more sick than I already am.

Then throw on some passive aggressiveness from that ex-girlfriend, plus a small fight with a different ex, and it makes for a pretty sweet weekend.

At least I think I did a decent job with the prospective student. I took a hands-off approach, so that he could go out and meet other prospectives without my dorky *** following him around and cramping his style. So he met a bunch of people, which is good.

Old was the day I realized I am 31, married, with a 2 year old, own my own home, have had the same job (well, with the same organization at any rate) for nearly a decade, am an uncle now not by marriage, and have to spend 36 hours recovering from a bender.

Sad times indeed.

You know what would make you feel younger? Coming to Boston and getting tipsy and dancing with me! DSD's going to make me go dancing, so I need some other tools to make fools of themselves with me! Smiley: sly

Eh? Sounds fun? *nudge nudge*

Not working is it?

Nexa,

I will need proof of this alleged old age. Please submit pics of you steam cleaning your couch, naked, and I will review them. Thanks.

Rigidly,
Kakar

I realized I was old when my oldest son grew to a height that requires me to look up at him. Granted I barely reach 5 feet, but still.

Despite the fact I'm married, own my own house, and have a child, I refuse to grow up.

I can attest to this, whenever Nadenu farts on Yahoo DSD cracks up.

That's not old age, it's just the English side of you asserting itself.
