Also, I've got a fancy new digital camera and a 1 gig memory card, so I'm looking for good photo opportunities. I'm a little bit picture-crazy. I took about 500 when I was in China a couple of years ago.

This is the type of thing I get to see regularly in Arkansas.

Here are some of my favorite travel pictures.

Take him on a walk through the Boystown neighborhood. Nothing could sound more wholesome and family-oriented than that, huh?

In my thirty-three years of residency in the Chicagoland metropolitian area, I've yet to hear a single report from Taste of Chicago where someone said it was worth it.

Joph is right, it is hardly worth it.

Unless you like to buy overpriced mediocre food from a place that is packed elbow to ***[black][/black]hole in a crowd with a bunch of strangers in the sweaty July heat.

I second the Signature Room in Hancock over the Sears Tower.

I see that the King Tut exhibit is on your list, if you're into museums I'd also recommend the Art Institute and the Museum of Science and Industry. The other museums are nice but don't really have anything you wouldn't find in another big city.

You can go to a free classical music concert in Millenium Park.

Make sure you get a deep dish pizza at some point.

You could see a Second City improv comedy show.

A drive down Lake Shore Drive, a drive through Lower Wacker, and an L ride.

I highly recommend
  • the Leonard Cohen Insect Museum,
  • Patsy Klein's Drive-Thru Motor-Cycle Hire, or
  • the Geoffrey Dahmer 24 hour Deli.

Ah, you too. I got this last christmas and it really is a remarkable camera once you figure out all the in's and out's.

Other then the problems with IR-photography using digital I've loved it. You can do practically anything with it that you can do with film without the extra bag to lug around film and it still takes the standard lens' so any of my old canon stuff still works with this.

I still wish it had a setting to work better with the IR lens since it's my favorite style of photography but that's what the film equivalent of this camera is doing in my trunk. The Digital SLR though is great for running around cities to catch all the photo ops but if I'm out purely on a photographic trip the pounds of film, lens', and other equipment will be coming. I love the digital but theres just something about using film not to mention some of the things you can do if you develop them yourself.

addressing your trip, unfortunitely I've never been but it seems y'all 'ave already covered the tourist spots.

Check the concert schedule at the House of Blues. Usually, they have some decent shows every weekend, and tickets are pretty cheap. If the weather is nice, hit up North Beach, play some volleyball, scope out the tail, and take a walk through Old Town.

For some free, low-brow enjoyment, visit and get your photo taken with Buckingham Fountain, as seen in the opening credits of Married... with Children

My Aunt nearly kill my uncle the night we were looking at old sides and found out that he had taken pictures of all of his girl friends at Buckingham Fountain, but not her.

I have a feeling the Art Institue would not be a good idea for your religous friend. I spent many a saturday there as a baby while my 6 year old sister took life drawing classes.

But it's a must if you are into Da Da.

Do they still have the resturant that was a 30's mobster type thing? The waiters and waitresses insult you when you order, I went there far too long ago and now I can't remember the name of it. I think it was Wiseguys or something along those lines.

Ah yes, I went there with a college group in 1999. I remember a waiter walking over our table to get back to the counter.
