So, its the birthday party of a dear and long time friend who happens to go through life without the benefit of a *****. I love her like you can only love a friend with whom you have shared some really sh;tty life moments, and she gets along with my wife, so I still get to see her. We are standing around the drinking end of the bowling lanes (yes, its amusing to see 20 or so 30-somethings drunk and bowling) talking about this, that and the other, when the story about an overzealous acquaintance and the Corona starts. My friend is telling the story about a really drunk woman and a utility knife and a lime. Standing opposite her at the bar in her basement, the overzealous drunk acquaintance begins slicing the lime with the blunt edge of the knife blade. Not seeing any progress she begins to press harder until, who'd have thought, she pops the lime, squirting my friend in the eye with lime juice.

On this line, in front off all of her other friends and my (humor impaired) wife, the only thought that pops in to my head and follows straight out of my mouth is "Speaking of getting squirted in the eye, you seeing anybody these days?"

Yes, it is obvious, and yes, it is exactly what one might expect me to think, but I was none the less pleased with actually having gotten it out there in front of the company assembled.

That there were 3 young ladies who looked at me qith a quizzical expression, requiring an explanation, made it that much better.

Being able to take (and give) the truth is so important (and rare) these days. Have my babies?

Even better; they were wickedly nubile!
