Does anyone care about Canadian Politics? Does anyone know how they work? Did anyone watch the debate? Do Americans even know our current Prime Minister?

I obviously know, but some others don't

It's Canada, no one cares, not even Canadians for the most part.

Let the frenchies start their own country, legalize hashish and hookers and gambling and call it a day.

Isn't that an oxy-moron?

Kidding. Honestly I don't know anything about Canadian government. Care to share the answers to your questions?

Canadian politics... hahahahhaahha. ahhhhhhhh good one. If there was a choice, I would make one. You can vote for this spineless loser, or that one. Our government (regardless of party) tries to keep everything the same, and that's how we Canadians like it.

God said he will make a nation of greatness, he will give then Crysatal streams and emerald fields, the bluest skyes and whitest mountains. I will call this country Canada.
Arch angel gabriel said is that not unfair to all other nations.
God said no, i'm going to give them the neighbours from hell.

See that Simpsons that mimicks "Catch Me If You Can"?

The U.S. and Canadian Park guys are arguing about who will save them from Niagra Falls.

U.S. Customs Officer: Beat it, you puck-slapping maple suckers.

Canada Customs Officer: Take a hike, you Shatner-stealing Mexico touchers.

Tee-hee, Mexico-touchers!!!

Heh, maybe if you studied each party platform a little more, you'd understand which part of the politcal spectrum each party is on and why. Its called: research.

Quebec does not think that Canada is benefiting them enough and is really trying to make their life hard. I'm not too sure about that. By far, quebecers are really nice people, despite how they want to seperate. The majority of quebec doesn't want to seperate. There was a time when the rallying for seperation was high, but it has slowly started to die out.

Quebec in Canada, is a lot like France in Europe. They aren’t going anywhere, they just want a sweeter deal than everyone else is getting. It's a French thing.

Canada would most likely be better off without Quebec, they have the largest deficit of any province for the last 50 years straight. You think Quebec is going to give up the Canadian dollar. That will be 6k Canadian francs for that Mojo. pish!

They are just using this separation thing, as a bartering chip to get a bigger piece of the pie... period!

I could go on and on, as to why we in the west hate them, but that question wasn't asked.

Another question for people who know which party is which: I would vote Liberal if I was old enough, but they say the Conservatives will win. Any say on this?

West eh? Didn't all the western seats go to NDP or the former Canadian Alliance? I pretty sure it was the CA.

Did the liberals follow through on any of the issues in their campaign platform from last election?

Do your own fucking homework. My shit is tight.

You can't really win an election by saying "We are going to do our utmost to keep everything the same as it is now." This time the conservatives are promising us a military, and Tax cuts and the liberals are promising us the same stuff they did last time, plus wind power.

What facts can you add QB (queerboy)?

Something all Canadians need. FOR WHAT?!?! Are we trying to take over a country? No. Are we trying to fight a war similar to WWII or WWI? No. Do you think the war in Iraq should be helped? I don't think so, but whatever your belief is your belief. I will be a BIG waste of money and I am strongly against the militarizaton (check spelling) of Canada. Personnaly, we need taxes. Canada is still in debt. Paul Martin balanced the budget when he was Minister of Finance, not exactly where he wanted to be. I think canada's business would profit greatly, but we would have to move money out of the country to get proper miltary supplies and I am strongly against that.

Yea, the conservative party is trying to make a resurgence, they practically collapsed there for a while. NDP is British Columbia, lots of granola/tree hugger types there, most beautiful part of Canada bar none. I am from Alberta, we have all the oil, we are heavily right wing as a region. I would vote liberal probably if I were home for the election. They just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, so they will probably run a tight ship for the next 4 years to regain the peoples trust. At least that’s the way I look at it.

All the oil is in sand right? Won't it cost an UBER amount to extract the oil from the sand?

I disagree the right side and left side of the political spectrum, but don't take me wrong. I don't hate you for being right wing. I just disagree with being too much for either side.

Random: I think Quebec should not seperate. One, they would choke the hell out of their economy because they are almost landlocked except for the St. Laurence. Plus, they have a great cheese. Mmmmm cheese. *drool

Upgrading our military would be a token effort, they were talking about 5000 troops, an some hardware. They want to do this to try and rosey up the USA, these forces would only be used for peace keeping.

But it would show Washington that we support their efforts and are willing to contribute ourselves. That is why it is a good idea.

I think it would be nice to have these arms for later, so we can kill more Americans when they eventually invade us to get our vast fresh water supplies.

I am not sure if the money would not be better spent elsewhere, but that is not my job.

I know shit about electronics and power conversion. I think it's a good idea to hire other people to make these decisions, ones that have all day to research the pros and cons and make a truely informed decision. Let's call them the government.

Since when was a miltary used for "peace keeping"?

Question for you Reinman: What side of the Politcal Spectrum is the NDP on?

Maybe when Canada actually exhibits meaningful participation in global politics, they can sit at the grown-ups table.

The USA have a military unequalled anywhere in the world. I'm English and can easy admit that. The canadians have no problems, no country hates them, where as America has build quite alot of enemies. Every country in the world that has built an empire has had the world turn on them it's all part of history.
The only thing I think America need more of is Groundforce fighting. They are MORE then capable of it, and the rest of the world would look more kindly upon them instead of dropping bombs killing women and children.

I'm sorry Canada hasn't tried to kill millions of people with an army. Let me convince our country that the only way to have a voice in this world is through meaningless bloodshed *COUGH War on Irag *COUGH
