The Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA) has rated the film R, meaning nobody under 17 can see it unless accompanied by an adult.

Moore has attacked the decision, saying that teenagers should be allowed to see the film unaccompanied.

Contrary to my political beliefs I've never been a Moore apologist, in fact I've probably been the opposite attackig him numerous times on this forum.

He's right about this, though. There's no way it should be rated "R".

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Just out of curiousity, how many teens does he think will want to see it when they can go to the theatre next door and see Daisy Dukes and thongs on horny co-eds for the same $8 USD?

The ones trying to get laid by showing the girl reading Henry Miller how "political" they are. In New England, that's most kids. Out in the "Heartland" cheerleader might go for the football hereo, in New England they go for the animal rights actavist wannabe :)

Can't say I don't agree with what he's saying about the draft and all, but wouldn't another movie with "graphic footage of corpses of US soldiers being burnt, dragged behind a truck and strung up" be given an R rating as well?

I really don't think so, Piko. It's documentary footage and it's breif. It's also not something that wouldn't be shown on the 6'oclock news.

There absolutely have been more violent PG-13 movies without question.

Teenagers will only go see this because it's controvertial. That would be the only motivation, to be able to say to peers "yeah, i saw that" and seem cool for a day. Politics is only 'cool' to the same crowd that finds the Chess Club 'cool' ...and those AREN'T getting laid. :P

You know, Smash, you are absolutely, unequivocally, 100% correct. It should have been rated XXX for obscenity. Moore's a piece of crap.

I would love to see your generation think about politics and government. I would just love to see the thought process occur when their heads are not rammed entirely up their asses. To all of the current generation of teens and early 20 somethings - pull your heads out of your asses and grow up. Nobody who matters enough to worry about gives 2 ***** about Global Warming, Whales, Trees or the animals in Alaska. Grown folks fight wars sometimes, and if dieing bugs you, don't sign up. Wanna be f'ucking hippies.

It's a cheap send-off from a title of a Ray Bradbury story. It just goes to show he has no creative ability and the Cannes award he received is proof of the anti-conservative nature of film making and the entertainment industry in general.

Moore sucks.

Entertainment industry, anti-conservative? Gee, I wonder why?

Maybe because it pays?

I do not think that the footage described in this thread should invoke an 'R' rating. But the MPAA was probably playing it safe on this one, considering all of the political overtones. After all, they don't want more legislation on the books regulating the industry, do they?

I will probably see the film. And will probably think it's a propagandist POS. That's just a prediction. I'll wait to actually make that call until after I've seen it.

I'm guessing it will be overturned, the MPAA is generally very weak when it comes to holding up against assault. They always buckle at the knees and fall when the pressure starts to get at them.

Am thinking this might get it seen by more people. A movie is always racier to the lil ones if its forbidden.

Here's an idea. How about watching it before deciding it sucks. It may very well suck, but prejudging is silly. If Fox News made a Documentary about Bush's notble National Guard service, I'd at least see it before conedming it.
