Look, much as I'd like to claim it, this isn't my web site. I don't own it, I don't have to pay for it, I don't have to worry about people being petty primadonnas. Alla can run the site in any way his wishes. He's clearly been quite sucessful at doing it in the past, and sucsess sometimes brings change. He can't not stand up for Kao, I'd do the same in his position, and Kao's not going to change.
I'm a very tiny portion of these forums, I contribute nothing to the site over all in terms of profitability and don't even play the games it's built around anymore.
This isn't me trying to leverage some sort of change here, this is me saying I understand why it works this way now and that it's not the type of place where I want to post.
Forget about the refund thing, too, I've certainly gotten more than $30 of value out of this site in my years here.

Still, whether he has to stand up for Kao or not, in the year I have been here I have seen the l33t haxx0r do some pretty f'ucking childish things, and it always gets ignored due to his "helpfulness". Well, taking enough offense to edit that post was the height of absolutely childish behavior. Alla, regardless of his employment status, you know good and well that worse has been, and will continue to be, said in this forum. Kao getting butt-hurt over a comment and abusing his mod privilages was over the line. While my money ain't gonna break you, if he does it again unchecked, I will not be paying for this site any more.

But if you had posted that remark about anyone in this forum and they asked me to remove it, I would have done so without hesitation. It went over the line and you know very well that I have removed things like that many times in the past. It's only because Kaolian has the ability to do it himself that you are in a huff.
While this forum is as open as a forum can get on a mainstream site, it is not and never has been a place to post whatever you want without any consequences. Given his position in real life, an accusation such as you made, even in jest, on a well read public forum like this, could have serious consequences. Quite frankly, he has every right to file a defamation suit against you if he wanted and he would win hands down. This forum is a place to debate free of real life restraints and consequences, and that's part of what makes it so great. Carry it beyond that and you have taken away what makes this enjoyable for everyone. Think about it a minute. Do you really want people to have the unfettered ability to do things like that?

As you know, being a lawyer and all, satire isn't libel. First ammendment protection would clearly apply, just as it does when "Saturday Night Live" does a sketch about someone.
