Did anyone else get to see Joe Biden loose it a rip into Ashcroft yesterday?
Here's the situation. Senate hearing about rleasing "torture memos" to the Senate from Justice. Mostly random banter. Give us the memos. Ashcroft: No, executive privlidage, fuc[b][/b]k off...whatever.
The one publicly leaked memo so far:

Then there's a five minute exchange where Ashcroft is explaining how it's legally ok to circumvent the Geneva Convention with the Gitmo detainees or whatever and Biden looses it.
Either Biden's a fantastic actor getting a nice peice of politcial grandstanding or he's realy on the verge. He grits his teeth and stares at Ashcroft for a second and says:
"Don't you GET it? The reason we have these conventions (against torture) at all is so that when MY SON (who is serving in Iraq) is taken prisoner there's SOME REASON for people not to torture him. Do you UNDERSTAND THAT?"

Ashcroft responded that he did indeed 'get it', and that his son too is in the military and serving (or recently served) in Iraq.
Which doesn't change much, Bush and company are trying to play semantics games and weasel themselves a way to use torture. I can hardly wait for some more of these memo's to be leaked. I've heard there are over 200 pages worth. Should be interesting.
Right. The best Ashcroft answer was when asked if the memos were classified he responded:

I watch CSPAN. Or try to anyway, I get bored while they take breaks and the camera just pans around and you just hear a low roar from everyone talking.

Nah most puppets or newbies start off attacking a old poster. The puppets usually are recognizable cause they will fight back for more then 3 posts the newbs will usually fade away. Some people just keep fighting back even though you are sure they must be a puppet, still not sure if Empyre is a puppet or Katie redux.
