Kerry to Endorse New 'Purple Heart' Band-Aids
05/06/04 NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey

Senator John Kerry, the recipient of three Purple Hearts, has signed a contract with Johnson & Johnson to endorse a new line of band-aids.

The band-aids will be small purple hearts designed to cover minor, superficial wounds like Kerry suffered as a lieutenant in the Vietnam War.

"We're proud to be working with Senator Kerry," said a Johnson & Johnson spokesperson. "We plan to use actual shrapnel removed from his arm in our ad campaign to highlight the small size of our J&J Band-Aid brand Purple Heart bandages."

The doctor who treated Kerry at Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, recently described the procedure used to treat the wound that won the senator his first Purple Heart.

"First, I located the wound with the aid of a magnifying glass," said Dr. Louis Letson. "Then, I used a pair of tweezers to extract the shrapnel, which measured approximately one centimeter in length and two to three millimeters in diameter.

"Finally, I covered the wound with one of those little round band-aids people use to cover corns on their toes."

The Band-Aid endorsement is not the first for Senator Kerry.

It comes on the heels of two other high-profile endorsement deals Kerry has signed with Waffle House and Flip-Flops, Inc.

I got a chuckle out of this one.

**** Bush had more of a wound falling off his bike than Kerry did from the shrapnel from his playing with mortar rounds and firing them into rocks.

I wonder if Bush can get a purple heart for that, bike fall? after all we are at war and an Al-Queda Terrorist must have put the rock in Bush's path. ;) J/K

How many times have you been injured in combat, Stok? Just curious.

I'll answer this one question Smash. Because I was not in a combat role as a 95C (Unless you count working as a tier guard and Assistant Guard Commander in the USDB or Supervising Death Row a combat zone), and when my MOS was 95B our country was not at war. Since I am now an 11B and I am non deployable because of a medical condition (Bad Ticker) I am not serving our country in a combat position, so the short answer is none.

I told you before my life is not up for public debate nor is the service to my country any of your business other than it has been close to 20 years and I will receive an Honorable Discharge for that service at Retirement. Where I've been and what I have done other than what I have shared is just no one elses business.

However, Kerry's record is up to critique and review because he is running for public office, when and if the day ever comes that I make the decision to run for political office I will be more than glad to share the intricate details of my military career.

This is not about me Smash and your attempts at personalizing this is not going to succeed. Defend your candidate on the issues at hand concerning him and the current commander in Chief. As I have stated 20 years of honorable service gives me the right to question the mans record. Now put up or shut up.

I just wanted to be clear that you're a whiney ***** who's never once faced risk of being wounded in combat questioning the valor of a man injured three times.

Your oppinion of the severity of Kerry's injuries is shit. That you would have the bad grace to attempt to question them is laughable. But, by all means, continue your efforts to undermine the sacrafices made by US troops all over the world who are awarded the purple heart. As you're making clear here, it's really no big deal.

Right?

No, it doesn't. Serving in the same theater or at least vaguely simmilar circumstances would give you the right to question his record. Being a cowardly lifer in the service who never was at risk gives you as much right to question his record as a fuc
king mailman.

You know who has a right to question his record? John McCain. Why don't you do a little research and see what he thinks of Kerry. Unless, you'd like to critisize his record of being a POW by telling us how cushy he really had it in Hanoi.

Obviously it is not clear enough, but you know you are showing your ignorance and arrogance Smash. I have nothing to prove to you about the dangers and risks that I have lived through, nor the seriousness of the job that I served our country in. I know what my experiences are and I will tell you now till you have walked a mile in my shoes, please do not make an assumption to my qualifications. Just because I have not been "wounded" does not mean I am unqualified to critique Kerry's service record. To repeat myself:

Before I ream you a new *** hole for this stupid remark, would please care to tell explain how you came to this asusmption?

Now mind you I understand that you are upset that Kerry is being torn apart for his actions in the combat theater, let's move to something else like his actions after his service. AND HIS ******* DISGRACE TO THE SAME UNIFORM BOTH YOU AND I HAVE WORN!!

First of all, how can a person so obviously in the 3rd grade have spent 20 years in the service.

Second, I know you aren't *****.

You are normal, so so normal.

I'm certain you weren't in the Air Force. You only seem bright enough to have managed to make into the Navy, or perhaps the Army on a good dat.

I don't think Kerry's being "torn apart" at all. I think some desperate people who disagree with his politics for whatever reason are hurling mud at him to see if any sticks. I haven't seen any stick yet.

I don't think standing against a war which you belive (and history has shown) to be an unwinnable enagement accomplishing nothing but grinding up US boys and men dishonors the military at all. In fact, I think the opposite is true.

As Kerry himself said once, "How do you ask a man to be the last to die in Vietnam?"

Good question. When you find someone like that ask him. Or maybe that is why Smash did 12 years, the government found out he only had a 3rd grade education.

Well, I'm done with the name calling, I had a good time at it. Let's start a thread about an issue that we can discuss as civil individuals. Are you up to it?

It's funny you bring up bulbs...considering how dim you are.

I simply stated that you got riled up to which you responded with "CAPS LOCK GOT STUCK ON" bullshit. I then pointed out that a CAPS LOCK can't add exclamation points to the end of a fricking sentence. Proving that you were riled up and were lying to cover it up for some unfathomable reason. Thus, you suck.

Convenient, as you are about as good at "name-calling" as you are at debating.

I think I'd rather just stick to reminding you and everyone here how much "you suck".

Thanks for playing,
