For all intents and purposes, he died 10 years ago.

While I disagree with his politics, I've got nothing against him as a person.

Only thing I like about his tenure was the appointment of Greenspan.

Other than that. Good man, he will be missed

A sad loss.

I am glad for him though, his alzeimers was advanced and he could not recognize loved ones.

Reagan was a great president though, he truly made people proud to be american.

I'm not sure he was a "great american", but he was certianly a famous one and by all appearances not an evil man on most days.

He did essentially delay AIDS research by about 5 years and likely cost hundreds of suffering people their lives, but hell, he played football in a movie once.

He was a great american, his legacy will live on forever. He is one of the top five presidents the U.S. has ever had.

Put the crack pipe down, son. He wouldn't even crack the top five of his century.

FDR, Kennedy, Taft, TR, Truman, Eisenhower, Clinton, THEN MAYBE Regean sneaks in.

All time, it's not even close.

Washington, Lincoln, Jackson, Kennedy, FDR, etc.

Ouch.
Don't make this topic personal. This isn't about my American History knowledge. (I'd rather be called a dumbass then open my mouth and prove it) Instead of totally blowing people off you might wanna inform them? c'mon people! A little respect won't hurt anyone.

Kennedy is definitly not #2 on Best Presidents of Century. He didnt do much and was voted in thanks to the mob. Top 5 of the century is probally FDR, TR, Truman, Reagen, Clinton. Your Top 5 is based off who was most liked. Kennedy, and Eisenhower didnt do anything to help America. Clinton, he was decent but lying under oath was his downfall. Taft, i dont know much about him so i can comment.

I used to think that Smash had a good solid head on him, but now i realize he just spouts BS. Smash you wouldn't happen to be Paul Begala in real life would you?

Though Reagan may not be the top ranking President of all time he definitely ranks in the top 5:

Washington, Lincoln, FDR, Reagan and Truman.

Now Jackson could rank in the top 5, but Kennedy?

FDR, Truman, Reagan, Eisenhower, T Roosevelt, Bush Sr, then perhaps Clinton and possibly Kennedy. But Taft in a top 5 or 10 list??

Goodbye President Reagan!

The President who gave us - until today, the biggest deficits ever! The President who was in office during the Iran-Contra Arms Scandal - and of course knew nothing about it! If you are too young to remember this here is a brief entry about it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran-Contra_Affair

This is the President who first proposed "Star Wars" missile defense - The name was later changed to "Strategic Defense Initiative." You can read about it here.

http://www.britannica.com/ebc/article?eu=404986

It's basically a missile defense system - someone shoot a missle at the US, we hit the missile with a missile and cheering abounds!

Hmm, what else did Reagan give us? Oooh I know, supply side economics - aka "Trickle Down Economics." Which, former President Bush called, before he was asked to be Vice President by Reagan and "Voodoo Economics."

Oh and at one point didn't Reagan FIRE all of the US Air Traffic Controllers, because they had the nerve to go on strike to demand better working conditions? yes, I think he did.

This is pretty frightening - I know that the current Bush's, (that would be US President #43), policies are, well, ******* but I never really realized just how much his presidency is mimicking Reagan's - pushing for an unnecessary missile defense fund, tax cuts for the wealthy, and scandal involved with negotiating with foreign governments, {Reagan negotiating with Iran, Bush negotiating with Saudi Arabia}.

I am sorry to bring these things up now, but we Americans seem to have a very short attention span when it comes to things historical. I thought Reagan's policies were bogus then, and I think they are still bogus now.
