Well, saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban a few hours ago, and I must say that it was decent, if not good or great.

I didn't like the first 2 movies, but I decided to sit in line for an hour and see this one, in hopes that it would be better.

It was, but not worth the waiting. It was a decent movie, but it wasn't amazing compaired to alot of movies that have been out recently.

The acting was decent, though a few parts seemed strained.

The effects were top notch, but I must say, the werewolf looks stupid. Very, very, very stupid.

The sound was good at the Tensiltown I went to, so I the person who handled that did a pretty good job.

My advice? See it in a week or two, when the crowds have died down. It's worth watching, but don't wait in line for it.

Lord of the rings.

Moulin Rouge

Pirates of the Caribbean

Fight Club

Usual Suspects

Dogma

The Thomas Crown affair

and thats off the top of my head, people in my opinion over-rate old films and play down new films.

Usual Suspects is far superior to any other film in it's genre for instance.

Lord of the rings maybe the Directors cut would be worth the wait.

Moulin Rouge 45 min max

Pirates of the Caribbean 30 min max

Fight Club They shoulda had my tickets ready as I walked through the door.

Usual Suspects 1995

Dogma ...was a pila of dogma ****. It was amusing but not worth waiting for.

The Thomas Crown affair ...would have been better as a Bond Flick.

So I'm asuming you hadn't read the book Cthulhu? I had read the book and I was really dissapointed. Further, I thought it might be hard for people who had not read it to follow what was going on since it seemed to be a lot of characters and plot going by pretty quickly.

Despite being dissapointed, I think it is a better movie then the first two. By this, I mean that I think the third book is so good that the movie should have been even better. I've read all five and the third is by far my favorite. Probably the second was the easiest to turn into a movie since not that much happened in the second book: if you've seen the movie you pretty much got it all. Whereas the third was really abridged. Much of the dialogue is the same, but connected to different events.

Also, I was amazed how many girls in the audience thought the actor for Harry was just horribly cute - and some of these girls sounded a bit older then teenagers. Odd, but somehow this made me feel better about Mrens (I think it was Mrens - if it wasn't you SORRY) that was saying he thinks Hermione was a cutie.

Last movie I remember waiting any for was LotR 3. Only fairly recent movies I can that I can think of off the top of my head that I would wait for that Tarv didnt list are Kill Bill 1, Mystic River, and Saving Private Ryan, I know SPR was 1998 but =).

As to Harry Potter 3 I cant wait to see it going tommorrow night after work with some friends. But my favorite of the five books was number 4.

There have been a few movies that I've thought were quite good in the past 5 years (few being the operative word), but I'm always patient enough to wait until I won't have to stand in long lines for them.

I don't know about other cities, but here we can buy movie tickets in advance online. Pretty handy.

Dawn of the Dead was so freakin amazing. 28 days later was fun, but it's not worth waiting for. While both similar, Dawn of the Dead is alot better.

Mystic River had two academy award winners if I remember right Tim Robbins, and Sean Penn directed by Clint Eastwood I believe but a very sad good movie with some great performances.

Not only that, but every damn time I waited in line for a movie, my wife popped a kid.

Let see, 1978 was Empire Strikes back if I recall. Yep, a daughter was born

1980 Return of the Jedi. Twins

Do you seriously think that I am EVER gonna stand in line for a movie??

Hmm let's see:

Return of The King (greatest movie of all time)
The Two Towers
Fellowship of the Ring
The Mummy Returns

Movies I would have waited an hour for if needed:

Dawn of the Dead
Black Hawk Down
Sum of All Fears
Signs
The Sixth Sense

I think you are referring to Resident Evil, which was soley based off a video game. And yes Resident Evil sucked hairy elephant ***. The Dawn of the Dead series has been around since the 70's and is a cult classic.

My mother in law has been hinting that she's willing to babysit while we go see Harry Potter, lol! Isn't she awesome? :)

I loved Azkaban but Goblet of Fire is my favorite; it's the only Harry Potter book that's actually brought me to tears. I thought they were going to stop filming at this movie but I heard they're planning on doing all 7 now and have already started on GoF.

I thought 28 Days Later was pretty good but it was a Living Room good movie, not an Hour in Line good movie. Mystic River was very good with a very personal feel to it, I don't know how else to put it. You felt connected to the characters in a different way than in other films, anyone else know what I'm talking about? Anyway, good, but I wouldn't wait an hour for it either. Movies with kickass previews like Return of the King or Phantom Menace are the ones I wait in line for.

Unfortunately the Phantom Menace preview was 50x better than the actual movie..
