Five hours is still too short for me.
Personally, I'm waiting on Howard Shore's release of the entire LOTR score which should hit shelves in the fall.

Release date for the extended version will be just intime for xmas...
and it is only adding 50 minutes to bring it to 4h 10m not the afore mentioned 5+ hours.

to bad, i would not mind it being the full 5hrs. see what more they could of done with an already great movie.
It really fascinates me... a type of human (such as myself) that can sit in one place.. utilizing technology to keep their brain entertained like a cocaine addict for 5...8..12..18 hours at a stretch. Delaying the bodily processes, (directly or indirectly) slowing their metabolism.. all of us have a serious one up on the monks from, whereever they are from.
I have such high hopes for this version. Two Towers Extended was a completely different movie in my opinion. I almost couldn't stand the theatrical. I was SO SO SO excited about ROTK but when I finally saw it I only saw it once because it didn't blow me away. I hope the Extended brings out the true feel of the movie like TTT EE did.
Word to pikko i was so disgusted with TT theatrical when i saw it in theatres that i walked out. It was a steaming pile if ever there was a steaming pile. I finally watched TT:EE the other day and i actually liked it. I didnt love it but compared to theatrical it was amazing.
I saw RotK thought it was okay, so now my hopes for Extended version are high.
