Still too many liberals... not enough conservativesFollow

At national organizations (which includes print, TV and radio), the numbers break down like this: 34% liberal, 7% conservative. At local outlets: 23% liberal, 12% conservative. At Web sites: 27% call themselves liberals, 13% conservatives.

This contrasts with the self-assessment of the general public: 20% liberal, 33% conservative.

Thought I would share all that.

One, the link doesn't work, two many, many, Conservatives are embarassed by the label (rightfully so) and thus claim to be "Independent" Bill O'riley for example. They want to claim impartiality and will occasionally even disagree with the administration on a minor point before ranting about Kerry being Satan.

What people call themselves is meaningless, what they advocate for matters.

Ah, I pulled that off a website but I guess it was just the Party of the president that appointed them.

Here's another source:

Quote:
Conventional wisdom divides the current Justices of the United States Supreme Court into three camps. First, there are the staunchly conservative Justices: Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Second, there are the moderately conservative "swing" Justices, Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy. Finally, there are the moderately liberal Justices: John Paul Stevens, David Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Stephen Breyer.

So that's 3 Conservative, 2 Swing, 4 Liberal

I realize that, just pointing out how CURRENTLY, the Federal Government is overwhelmingly under the control of the Republican Party. And since it's the news media's job to question the government, perhaps that explains the liberal backlash.

We went over this.

Stok, you work in a fucking coffeehouse. You have NOTHING at all to gain from being a Republican/Conservative. NOTHING.

Wake up and smell the coffee, son.

YOU HAVE BEEN DUPED.

Lol. Love it. See, the problem is like this. Many people might have a dream of owning and running their own business, like a coffe shop for example. Very few people have a dream of being an employee of a coffe shop. However, the very real economic reality of the world is that for every guy who owns a coffee shop, there must be somewhere around a dozen people who just *work* in that coffee shop.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats, is that Republicans just accept this as fact and work hard so that they can be the ones who fulfill their dreams. The Democrats somehow decide that this is "unfair", and that the inequity that results must be the work of some evil Conservative conspiracy designed to keep (insert some group here) down, rather then the logical result of a difference is work and effort and skill. Of course, there's no end to the downtrodden, who will insist that had they only been given the same opportunity as others, they could have made good. But hey, in lieue of that, they'll gladly vote for a party that will promise them prosperity without having to actually work for it. Taking from the pockets of the successful sounds like a great idea if you're not the one who had to work to earn that money in the first place...

I've found that also; Republicans accept all of the social ills in this country as somthing that must be a constant and accept that. Democrats are always trying to do somthing new and costly to solve these problems.

Waht party am I if I think we should live like the natives of this land did? Green Party, maybe.no.... or just a commie, liberal, pinko, scumbag? yeah, I know waht you're going to say...

I do. If it's one full of cute young girls who are all over the age on consent. And my job is to hang out and talk to said young girls. And I get to score a lot.

How about it, Stok? I'll send a resumé.

Am I living my dream? You bet your ***. I live in the most beautiful city in the US (if not the world). I work for a great company (5 minutes from my house). I have an ex-stripper girlfriend who is now a pharmaceutical company junior executive. I eat well, live well, play well. I want for nothing.

In addition, I have led quite a full life. I have met some damned interesting people - Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, Tim Leary, Hunter S. Thompson. I was a jet-set drug-dealer and I have made a major label album and toured the U.S. in a band.

Of course, these are MY dreams.

All this being said, Stok is still being duped to think that the Republicans give a fuck about small business owners any more than they do about coffee house employees. Casting your lot with Republicans won't make you rich or upper-class by osmosis. There is a good old boy system that you'll NEVER be able to break into.

It's just sad really.

Love it. You're going to assume that Republican policies will help him because he owns a small buisness, right?

Ahahahahahahah.

Sorry, go on.

$100 says Stok got a loan gauranteed by a program started by a Democratic President over the many objections of Republicans.

You mean the Republican Party? "We can cut taxes AND increase spending and it'll be great for everyone!!" You're right, I can't see why a true guliable sucker wouldn't vote Republican.

The funniest part about this is that you, personally, derive ZERO benefit from Republican economic policy. It never ceases to amaze me.

I'm sure Stok would hate to have the tax breaks for small buisness (who currently get HAMMERED while the Wal Marts of the world pay nothing) along with the ability to provide his employees with health insurance which I'm sure at present he doesn't.

That'd be terrible for him.

You picked the wrong example. Republicans evicerate small buisness. It's practically their credo "Squeeze the middle class and small buisness to pay for the rich"
