...for not Voting?

Would my motives and reasonings even matter? Does it make me unpatriotic? Does it mean I **** on all that this country has ever stood for?

I don't think so.
It's prolly not new news to most of us that barely 100 years ago, election day in this country consisted of the candidates mobs kidnapping citizens and beating them and getting them in such a drunken stupour that they'd vote multiple times. This was all over the country.

Not that it is an excuse for not "taking matters into my own hands"... but No one has yet impressed me enough. I Am a registered voter, btw... so I guesss I'm not a total Pinko.

Nope, you fall well in the vast majority of everyday Americans who also don't vote.

Following the path of least resistance is what we do.

Consider yourself Patriotic.

No your not a bad American for not voting; however, I cant see how you can complain about the outcome of said elections if you didnt participate in them. Voting is your right, not your obligation.

These past few elections I have felt like I am forced to choose the lesser evil. I understand your hesitation in wanting to put your name to a ballot. Its make me feel far too guilty when the canidate I vote for turns out to be a complete idiot.

it's really not that I don't care.

It's more like if I was asked how i would like to kill the dying dog on the side of the road.. Do I wont to club it with a tire iron or shoot it with my revolver... and just not being able to do either one and handing over the choice to somone else... not apathy, but complacency maybe..

Damn you caught me. Smiley: lol No, admit that I voted for "Dubya" simply because I felt he was the "lesser of two evils."

People who don't hold the sacred blessing of Liberty sacred enought to get off of their lazy asses once a year to go down and check some boxes in a voting booth make me sick. Especially since you don't even need to do that. Absentee balloting and mail order stamps mean you never have to leave the comfort of your own home to participate. Don't like the system? Do something about it. Vote.

I think Moe and I hold pretty opposing political views on many issues, but I'm in complete agreement with him here.

I will say that though I do vote, not once has my vote made any difference in an election.

If one is marginalized, then I think voting is just to insure that one can *****.

But you see, that is where you are wrong. The act of participation is what makes a difference. Apathy is a festering disease. It will not flash and burn a thousand acres over night, but left unchecked begins to seep beyond the boundries of "the young" and "the disenfranchised". Granted, your voting does give your ******** a bit more legitimacy than that of those who can't be bothered, but at least you are excercising the muscles of Liberty. At that take heart. It does make a difference.

EDIT: Using a new laptop. Freakin keys are too small.

Ya know, stupidity is pretty much defined as an inability to learn from one's own mistakes.

Guess what? Your vote is irrelevant. Vote, don't vote, whatever. Bush is going to win his home state regardless.

If you don't live in Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia or Wisconsin....

Your vote is utterly meaningless. All of the other states are massively polarized to the point where it's more likely that each and every person will be struck by lightning than Bush will carry Massachussets or Kerry will carry Texas.

So horray for you in casting a vote that will mean absolutely nothing in the Presidential election. Nothing at all. Every vote in Texas that occurs after Bush has enough votes to win the delegates means squat.

You may have mistaken our system for a Democracy in a breif moment of sucking down "rock the vote!!" propaganda or something, but it's not. If it were, we'd be talking about the Gore economic miracle and how we had ended terrorism world wide right now.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.
