So that girl at work is old news. 1) I couldn't get the angle I needed, 2) I have met someone else.
Actually, this isn't the first time I have met her. My best friend has been telling both of us that we are perfect for each other for a while, however she and I are so stubborn that we would both rather swallow razor blades than admit that our mutual friend knew better than we did about what is good for us. Previous meetings with this girl have been characterised by extreme frostiness towards each other.
It was no coincidence that my best friend was not present on Friday night when we fell into each other's arms. Amusingly enough this occured at the birthday party of his very recently split-from ex-girlfriend. And thus the balance of love is maintained in the universe, as one relationship breaks down, amongst the destruction a new one may be born.
I will not admit it to him yet, but he was right. We are perfect for each other. Almost the exact same sense of humour, and I have not felt so contented as I did on Sunday when we spent the entire afternoon kissing like teenagers in the corner of my favourite pub.
To be continued if it gets off the ground properly. There are some complications, not least that I am working in a different city to where she lives at the moment...
