Apparently, I am the only person on the entire planet that thought it was dull.
Puss'n Boots (or was it Puss Y'boots, or some other derivation?) made the film. If Antonio Banderas hadn't been there to save that movie, I swear to God, I woulda grabbed Shrek by his pun-spewing throat and pissed down his funnel shaped ear.
P.S. I can't believe I just said that Antonio Banderas "saved" a movie. I must be getting gay in my old age... I do have a hankerin' to see Troy a second time.

The worst part is that Banderas is only a voice in the movie. Even women don't swoon at an animated cat with his voice. ;)
Classic stand-up aside, you are correct- Murphy is at his funniest when playing Donkey.
As far as Shrek 2 is concerned, he would have been funnier if he'd made some jokes that weren't stolen from the first film, and weren't puns.
