Note: Value Declared on Package may be lower than
actual, so you should pay less local tax. With effect
from 1 Jan 2004, Singapore & USA have a FTA (free
trade agreement). You do not have to pay trade import
tax IF you live in the USA.

I purchased an item off of Ebay. The above quote was from an email informing me the item had been shipped. Unfortunately, the email has left me a little confused.

I don't have to pay a 'trade import tax', but I do have to pay a 'local tax'? Is that correct? Is this just one of those taxes that legally you are supposed to pay, but nobody ever does? Or was something lost in the translation?

it is the sellers responsibility to collect tax. if the company you got that item from did not already collect the tax from you, then they can not.

the import fees/trade taxes are normaly applied to items that come from out of the US it is part of how every nation makes some added income.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.
