Heyy all! ^_^ Yes, it's a girl. Her name is Kami and she was very nice to her mommy and came out super fast. I'm told you can't officially count 1-3 cm dilation when "bragging" about how long or short your labor was so my labor lasted approximately 6 hours with 20 minutes of pushing. And yes Flea, that is considered VERY short. My doctor and all my nurses were friggin' freaking me out telling me "oh, yes first time moms are always about minimum 20 hours labor with 2 hours pushing. In fact, you could be in labor for DAYS!" <insert /panicked Pikko> I was looking at the nurse thinking "WTF none of my books said that!"

Excuse my lack of modesty, but I'm proud to say that I turned down all their epidural offers and ended up having a good ole natural childbirth. It wasn't as bad as I'd psyched myself out for it to be and I really think my paranoia and terror helped me cope with it. The best thing to say though is that every labor is different for everyone. I'm just glad mine went so smoothly.

The hospital I was at was SO freaking awesome. I had this huge room and since it wasn't crowded that day I got to recover in it as well. It's like a suite and they even transferred me to another one with a prettier view and tons of counter space for all our stuff. They make it so easy to make the transition to recovering at home, I was amazed, even though I'd taken the tour before.

Kami is looking great, though she has slight jaundice and was wreaking havoc on my poor boobs the last few days. I'm getting the hang of it though and we love her so much. I'm doing awesome, walking around is easy and my mom is here to cook and stuff for us for a couple weeks. I'll be making a little spoof of Pikko Pots with her later and will post that link once I'm done. Everyone told me to be ready for being completely exhausted and sleep deprived but I'm still in the excited phase so the 10-30 minute intervals of sleep is still okay. Taking bets on how long I last in that phase. haw haw

Gotta go back to inhaling my dinner.

Wootles!

I'd be proud and pleased to have Kami's middle name be Totem and thus provide the good fortune and life of privilege that my good name brings. Name her so with my blessing.

Congratulations, Mom!

Sorry, forgot to tell everyone THANKS so much for the congrats and well wishes. :)

When Kami's in the third grade she comes home saying, "Mommy, my teacher asked what kind of middle name Totem is. Where did it come from?" What should I tell her? (Difficulty: 10 words or less)
