Are you talking about that reporter that was kidnapped in Pakistan? I saw that 6-7 months ago, I was traumatized for days afterwards, horrifying, really! That is by far the worst thing I have seen in my life, and I would not wish anyone to see that. I wish I had not seen it myself.

Why couldn't they have gone to Germany for that?!?!?!

While it was horrible and a terrible thing, I can't honestly say that I blame them with all the pictures floating out around there of the prisoner treatment or the stories they must be hearing of the treatment of women in the camps. It just sucks all around. :(

This is nothing like the prisoner photo's and videos.

This is inhuman. We dont kill animals in such a fashion.

just think that this happens everyday to sombody somewhere... add a name to the face..... God theh sounds on that are horrible.. And they are praising God as they do this....

i still have no real comment on this... just very very sad.

Dead is dead. Dead after twenty seconds after having your head cut off or dead after three days because people beat the **** out of you in prison.

Did you not read that he was a civillian helping Iraq get on its feet, not some milita man in a bunker firing off RPG's killing kids, or blowing up IED's taking out anything in its blast radius.

Killing a soldier who is fighting a war is bad, but it happens, killing civillians who are only there to "help" who post no real threat to you is just weak.

Sometimes I think that Smash is just so damn bored that he pushes peoples buttons just for some excitment during work...smart man.

Did you read the Red Cross report stating that SEVENTY PERCENT of the detainees in Iraq were there for no apparent reason and the vast majority were eventually released.

The US has killed 1000 times as many completely innocent Iraqis as the Iraqis have killed US civillians. The method of killing them isn't much of a distinction to the families of the dead I imagine.

I know the story all to well. Here in AF the 22nd MEU was just doing routine patrols when one of their young Cpl's get shot and killed...so they cordon the village and get every fighting age male round up to investigate. Then if they turn out innocent they let them go...they don't behead them and video tape it. Pay attention to the words...eventually released

The world is outraged by some guys pulling college type hazing acts on people that would slit their throats if the tables were turned. We are giving them 3 meals a day, daily showers, clean clothes, and a bed to sleep on. Not only that but insuring that they live another day and not die from some missed placed rocket attack from their own people. Don't get me wrong, we can all agree that the people in those pictures weren't doing the right and just thing, but can you honestly say that you wouldn't do the same if you were in that situation?

No apparent reason??? I think not. We don't drive around and pick up people becuase we are bored and have room in the prison.

And I don't see how you can compare "detaining" someone for a day or two, to cutting someones head off and filming it.

One thing that doesn't need a discussion is that both are terrible things and should be stopped.

Another thing can't be avoided....they never will be stopped.

People talk about ending wars and to me a better topic would be how to prevent hair loss, becuase THAT would actually prove benefitial, and might actually find resolve. People who think that war will end if they make a bigger sign and stand out in DC for an extra 30 minutes are totally wasting their time. They would be better off going back to work and indirectly funding the war they are so against.

The point that I am trying to make is that people in the Iraqi prison were picked up becuase of suspicions or direct actions agains coalition forces. The dude getting his head cut off and taped so that his children can watch it later, was doing nothing but trying to help, no guns, no IED's, nothing. Taken that murder is murder however you do it, still, killing innocent unarmed people is a horrible act and shouldn't be tolerated...by either side.
