I'm a big FF fan. I have hooked up my old SNES to play FF 2 and 3 (American). But I just had no desire to try an online version of it. I think it would ruin it for me to not have a story line laid out for me the way the other FF's have.
I'll just wait for EQ2.
And continue contemplating firing up EQ1 again (god help me).

If you don't look at FFXI as a FF game, it's really a decent MMORPG. The whole cross-cultural, cross-platform thing is kinda nifty too.
FFXI actualy has a complex plot laid out for you. to go along with the plot there are fairly decent cut scenes.

Graphics and Cut scenes. Yea, that is way more important than game mechanics. The razzle dazzle does impress the simple minded.

FFXI has great game mechanics. The only problem is that man y of the people who came from EQ to FFXi left just as fast. It seems teh concept of skill chains was too much to grasp for many of them.

So what did you come up with as an opinion. Personally as someone who was abused as a child, I figured out is much worse than you could possibly imagine.
Your opinion no matter which side it leans to can never be truly inspired without the experience. Someone like yourself would probably enjoy it.
