Best Actor in the Worst MovieFollow

#27 Apr 29 2004 at 9:08 AM Rating: Decent
I am forced to nominate Kevin Costner for Best Actor with Most Bad Movies In A Row. One word: Waterworld. OK, another word: Postman.

(And I loved David Brin's book, too. Feh.)

Without a doubt the movie is Gigli which has Christopher Walken and Al Pacino. I couldn't believe this movie could be as bad as they said, but it was much much worse.

And for the record..... Affleck was the bomb in phantoms yo!

I don't know how y'all might think of Robin Williams as an actor, but he's done some incredibly poor movies. "What Dreams May Come" and "Moscow on the Hudson" immediately come to mind.

When asked about why he had been in so many bad films considering his acting worth, Michael Cain replied:
"I have a very high standard of living and it requires a very low standard of movie to maintain it"

Micheal Cain doesn't meet the "good actor" criteria in any way. Allthough he was funny in Dirty Rotten Scoundrela.

I actually loved "What Dreams May Come". But that's just my sappy side.

I know that he does not constitute as a "Best Actor" by an means, but THE worst actor/movie I ever saw was "Before Sunrise". I must have drank 5 pots of coffee to try to stay awake, and even that didn't help.

Off topic - My three all time favs are:

1. The Usual Suspects
2. Playing by Heart
3. Braveheart

Al Pacino in Gigli, he wasn't the main star but he was in the film.

I don't know, in my mind he ceased being a good actor after "Sent of a Woman" when he apparently decided that screaming was a good substitute for intensity.

Jeremy Irons in Dungeons and Dragons may be close, I never saw it, as I know that it is bound to be a pile of crap. The beauty of Ishtar is that by all appearances it should be a good movie. Anyone who disagrees, should be punished by having to watch Ishtar "The Director's cut". An extra hour of footage!

You don't like Pachino screaming a verbal description of Reinman's old avatar?

I liked What Dreams May Come too. I think I sobbed the whole way through so that was exhausting.

rhaiynebow, I saw a poster in the theater for a sequel you'll not want to miss, Before Sunset! Ooooh!

Good or Bad movies are just a case of preference... Case in point Siskel and Ebert's review on Beverly Hills Cop " Eddie said this movie was his apology too his fans who watched Best Defense. I say Eddie you need too keep trying." Both critic's gave a thumbs down on the movie and it turned out to be a blockbuster. It was there opinion. Personally I go too movies to get away from real life and I accept it as entertainment just whats it's susposed to be. There really are no bad movies or good movies it's just your preference.

Flash Gordon was perhaps one of the finest movies of the 1980's.

Okay, I'll fess up.

I own a copy of Flash Gordon and have watched it numerous times. But you must admit, it's very cheesy. Just because one happens to really enjoy a cheesy movie doesn't make it less cheesy.
