Do the Chargers have a chance? Will he really sit out a season? my gut instinct says he will, if I am the Chargers I draft Gallery(the Offensive Lineman), to let Thomanson go better and give the ball back to Brees, hell if nothing else go with Flutie he may not be "the man" but he is entertaining.

Well, After watching the first few rounds of the draft, the Chargers DID take Manning. Also, DeAngelo Hall is taken, Larry Fitzgerald went 3rd, and Chicago is up next.

I think that the Chargers will trade Eli away though, considering how "enthusiatic" he is to play for their team.

Absolutely. He'd poison any chemistry the team'd have. SD will trade him away and get several picks or options which will leave them in a much better position for the upcoming season.

NY got hosed, lol 3 picks and Rivers for Manning. I guess Cary Collins(sp) can expect to not get a contract extension as well.

WOOT!! The Dolphins didn't make a knuckle head draft pick in the first round! Now maybe Ricky Williams will be able to run again this year....Go Fins!

Yea anyone remember when ol John Elway pretty much refused to play for the baltimore colts? Pretty much the same situation here. Although it seems a bit unfair and being a HUGE baltimore sports fan you would think I would still be bitter about this but its just the way thins go in football. Ravens now still have no passing game and picked up yet another defensive player. I guess if the other team cant score any points you have a better chance of winning. Now if we can just keep everyone out of jail things will come together nicely GO RAVENS!!

It's pointless to even play the season, just give New England the trophy now and save time.

It ain't just Tiki. The Giants were just embarassing in so many ways last year, it hurt to watch. Coughlin's not the sort to tolerate seeing the same mistakes being made repeatedly though, so I do expect some dramatic changes.

Although Seattle is the "Conservative City" in sports, at least Holmgren got a much-needed DT with the first pick. Also, the guard pick will help our struggling O-line greatly. The linebacker picks are smart because our linebackers are aging.

That's all from the Emerald City :)

Ya know what? Nuts to Eli Manning and all those other guys, the most important draft pick so far was DeAngelo Hall going to Atlanta with Vick. Both are VT grads, and both are (arguably) the best at their respective positions. Now the Falcons have a dominating QB and a kick/punt returner with more talent than the entire rest of the team, excluding Vick of course.

Atlanta goes to the Super Bowl as long as Vick stays healthy.

That would be cool cept they would probably lose to the Pats once they get there. Lol all the Pats needed was a running back so they pick up Corey Dillon. I am as optomistic as the next fellow but sheesh.

Just watch out for Detroit. With the addition of Roy williams and Kevin jones in the first round, they look to me like a team on the rise. If not this year then in the next year or two.

Yeah the Giants have a pretty good lineup and Tiki def isn't the only problem but he has been a fumbling machine the past couple years. WIther way, i agree tha the entire team needs to step it up. If everyone is heathly and can play an a "team" for once they should have a great year.
And yes the Pats, what else can be said about that team, they only got more weapons in the off season, and they are gonna be...<cough> good <hack>. They are gonna be the favorites but with have one of the strongest upcoming schedules and the introductions of new players who are unfamilier with the system they are not unbeatable.

Nobody's unbeatable anymore. The Patriots could easily not make the playoofs, Football is such a ballanced leuge now. Every year there's like 10 teams that are serious contenders.

Perhaps, but the Chargers were worse. Then again, I guess the Gaints would be more dissapointing - since they were in the Superbowl what, three years back?

I am really glad Harrison got to win one with New England. Seau played so well on so many horrible Charger teams that he deserves a medal.
