I'm kind of excited, I've never been there before.

Any good eateries that you folks suggest I visit, near or around China town?

While yer in Chinatown, can you get me one of those really cool floppy straw wicker hat thingies that all those farmer-ninja type guys wear in Anime?

Those hats are NAILS!

Lol, take that Thundra.

Even now, just talking about my trip to NYC this weekend, somebody hates me so much that even this thread was rated down.

Damn, when I **** somebody off, I really **** somebody off.

From 4.48 down to 2.74, that's more than one rating of 1. I either have one person who hates me a lot and owns some puppets, or a few people that have a decent amount of hate for me.

Call me Captain Damage Control, or CDC for short. Which, curiously enough, is also an abbreviation for the Center for Disease Control.

Perhaps the latter is more appropriate.

Anyway, you are the first person I've bothered to rate in months. Are you as flattered as I am pathetic?

EDIT: I'm even more impotent than I was previously aware. With three 'Excellent' ratings I only managed to nudge you up by .25.

Yes, very, and probably just as pathetic as I am flattered, because we all know that only pathetic loosers care about their rating.

Does it make you sad that your ratings only got me up to 2.99?

Anyhow, have at it, goin' to bed now, I expect a super low rating when I wake up or else!

Sorry, not trying for any gay pirate sex.

That's what you meant right?

If I dressed like you did in that picture, I'd beat my own ***.

BTW, you still owe me some excellent ratings since you bumped me down to Sage.

Not that I'm a pathetic "looser" that cares about my rating Smiley: wink2

Anyone know if ground zero/Lady Liberty are now open to the public? I heard from someone (not very reliable) that they are closed, and chose to believe it.

Hey, I'll be there Sunday. Just for the Red Sox game, though.

If you've never been to NYC see the library, St Pat's, and take the Chrysler building tour.

None of that's near Chinatown if you're walking, but if you don't fear the subway none of its too far.

The C building tour used to be pretty cool and not crowded at all. I haven't been since 9-11 though so it might not even exist anymore. (the tour, not the building, that still exists for sure)

YMMV

The base of the statue is open. They still haven't reopened the the statue itself, citing that it lacks proper fire escapes and stairwells in the event of emergancy.

Ugh, the Statue of Liberty. Unless you really have some overwhelming desire to see it I'd skip it. Crowded, boring, and IMO really not that intresting. It's just a big statue. St. Pats is a Cathederal for God's sake. You won't be seeing one of those back in Boise.

Da Nico on Mulberry St. Start with the Pizza Margarita (named for the queen, not the drink), and try the Veal Chops or Three Musketeers as well. The food is great and its not expensive.

Afterward you can have dessert at Ferrara's (159 Grand St, not far from Da Nico).

We went, we saw, we are exhausted. Walked almost everywhere. Skeet kept grabbing his own *** and exclaiming it was 'tight like a tiger,' I kept announcing every bridge I saw was the Brooklyn Bridge. On the bus on the way there, Skeeter proposed making me a member of the '5-foot-high' club. Our hotel sold cup-of-soups for $1. At the end of the day I reaffirmed that NY was a great place to shop, and Skeeter decided that it was dirty, after seeing people blow their nose, spit and poo on the street. He said he didn't feel lik he had been to NY as much as to China, but that's because we couldn't afford to stay someplace nicer.

Lol. True dat.

If you go to the Empire state building, DON'T take the "short wait" line to "see the building". It's twice as much money and it's only a movie, on THE SECOND FLOOR!" I'm glad that I decided to stop after being hurried along by 3 or 4 workers there to actually read the brochure they gave me instead of asking them.

Flea, what did you say about our first taxi driver? Gay, Jewish, and what?

Honey, check your non-work email. My mail server isn't letting me send it to your work address for some reason.
