Pop quiz! So what do people actually do on Earth day?

(1) Find alternative means of transportation

(2) Celebrate anniversary of Earth's cooling, solidifying

(3) Thank Earth for everything, even the final touches like the ozone layer and the magnetic field

(4) Apologize, in advance, for all the the pollution we are going to emmit, or through inaction allow to be emmitted, unnecessairly in the next year - which Earth, by and large, will be uneffected by but all life onboard will be

(5) Pray to Gaia for no local natural disasters for another year

(6) Spend evening hunting for really large comets, Earth's only natural predator

(7) Nothing, really

(8) Invite a steel drum ensemble to come play in the quad?

When I was younger, I used to take a garbage bag and pick up litter around my neighborhood on Earth Day. I decided not to do that anymore though, because I just pick up litter I see on the ground everyday and do my little part all year long. I also ***** people out when I see them littering, which is not only helpful but extremely enjoyable as well.

WTF? The Earth didn't get me anything for my birthday and now it's "Earth Day"? Damn Earth.

Yesterday was Secre-- erm.. "Administrative Assistants" day. I got in on signing a card and buying some candy for the skirts in the front office. Buying the Earth a card seems counterproductive though.

i used to buy tree's and plant them, but since moving to california the only land available to plant tree's are on someone else's personal property and i'd probably get shot or arrested for trespassing if i tried that.

no i just smoke a cigarette, chop down a few trees, donate money to road funds, spray a new aresol can until its empty and dump a few bottles of hazmat into the ocean.

i don't see it as hurtful or wreckless...i'm boosting the earth's immune system.
