Yes, Smash, Winnipeg does suck. It's the red, raw ****** of Canada.

But the Pixies are incredible.

That's really about all there is to know. They're one of those bands that was marginally popular when they're current and then became real fashionable after they broke up.

Think "velvet underground" but without as much talent or Warhol playing movies on them. They're a Boston band from when I was a kid so I saw a lot of them in the late 80's.

Nothing screams "I'm only 16" like the brash, up-front lines you use, Trunks. Try to be a little more seductive. Maybe ellude to various erotic things through innuendo. But for all that is holy, don't use any pick-up line you hear in school, none of them work.

Except for, "Are you from Tennesse? Cause you're the only 10 I see."

I read that as "'Cause you're only ten, I see."

Which, if you're from the right part of Tennesee, might still be a valid pick-up line.

Ok Trunks, I'll make you a deal. Since I'm an English teacher by trade, you submit to me a 1500 word essay comparing the characters of Pony-Boy and Dally from the The Outsiders. If you can compare and contrast the two characters coherently and submit to me an essay free of grammatical and spelling error, I'd be happy to "hook up" with you for a soda or a windy walk.

You in?

Didn't think so.

Then, as I said, numbnuts, I'll "hook up" with him for a soda or a windy walk. However, I am fairly sure I am safe. I could only be safer if I asked you to complete the task, Empyre.

I'll do 3000 words!

Heh.. back in high school, I took an English class were the teacher put out weekly point tallies. In other words, out of X many possible points that semester, you had earned Y and thus your grade would be a(n) A/B/C..etc. However, once per semester, he allowed the chance to earn extra credit by doing a book report. It had to be a minimum five pages for however much credit (I think about half a letter grade) with an additional so many points per extra page.

These weren't normal book reports. The instructor had some system you had to follow. One of the bits was that you had to describe each main character physically, mentally, socially, emotionally and spiritually. So, anyway, I was somewhere in "F" territory for the semester due to amazing laziness and decided I'd better do my report. I sort of cheated and and called the entire Dragonlance Chronicals trilogy a "book" and went to work. After doing the above review bit for each of the characters, plus the usual bit about the plot, climax, etc I wound up with about sixty-five handwritten pages. I finished off the semester with something like 11000 points out of 9000 possible assigned points. I'm not sure if being able to pull from an F to an A like that is "good", but I'll give the teacher credit for keeping with the point agreement.

And, he's a good boy, so even if he was interested, he couldn't "hook up" with you. You are such a bad influence Tare. I am ashamed.
