Listen up all you f*ckwads. You have no f*cking clue what it's like to work behind this desk. You have no f*cking clue what it's like to deal with sh*tf*cks like yourself.

If you come to me and tell me you don't have enough towels, and I tell you that I will get housekeeping on it as soon as possible...guess what that means. AS SOON AS F*CKING POSSIBLE! That does NOT mean for you to keep calling me ever 5 f*cking minutes asking where your towels are.

I am a front desk clerk. I do not work maintainence. I do not work housekeeping. I don't know why your TV isn't working. I don't know why housekeeping wasn't psychic enough to know 16 f*cking ppl were gonna rent that room and didn't leave enough towels. Where on my name tag does it say "Chris: God of Best Western"? NO F*CKING WHERE!

Do not, as a 20-/30-something, ask why the old farts are getting a discount rate and you aren't. Don't ask why you paid Expedia $139.99, but our sign says $79.99. Because your dumb *** agreed to pay Expedia $139.99. There is NOTHING I can or will do about it.

Do NOT expect me to drop what I'm doing just to come out some inane bullsh*t complaint. If what is supposedly messed up is our fault, someone will fix it......when someone gets there. If you just don't like something just because you don't like what you are paying, oh wah...two choices: Go to the desk and say "Ya know. I just really don't want to pay that. The room is clean, so can I just go?", or suck it up and pay the $100.

One last thing. If you are gonna complain about me, you really do NOT need to know my last name. For one, I am NOT, repeat NOT, under ANY circumstance, gonna give you my last name. My manager knows me well enough to A) know who you are talking about by general description, and B) Not really gonna care since I sell rooms like a motherf*cker. The hotel industry is about supply and demand. We supply the rooms, and we demand what price we see fit.

Gawd, I felt like telling that to sooooooo many people tonight.

Get an education past the 9th grade and you won't have to deal with all that.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Seeing as how I am the 3rd shift manager of a 24 hour convenience store, I do know what it's like. I am willing to bet that I have had to deal with far worse examples of humanity than you have.

Like a diploma means a damn thing anymore. I have several friends that went on to college after graduation, only to find that they couldn't get jobs. A couple of them work in factories now, making roughly $400 a week busting thier *** and killing themselves.

But those service sector jobs are the most secure ones! You want him to get an advanced degree in computer science just so he can lose his job to some guy in Calcutta?

The "in" thing for us "people of color" now is to steal Americans jobs from afar instead of coming to America to steal them.

I'm looking for a good one now, so if you see some white guy with a good job, send him my way, I'd like to steal his job from him.

If I had my way, it'd be for a condom dispenser, one that your father would have used how ever many years ago you were conceived.

No, no.. we're talking about educated jobs here. Not picking beans or clearing tables.

There's a nightshift janitor at the local Chik'N Shak who's white though. I'll give him your number. Smiley: grin

1) Get out of the service industry. You obviously don't have the personality for it. If dealing with people drives you nuts then look for a job where you don't have to deal with the general public. Programming or accounting immidiately comes to mind.

2) Every consider a career as a stock broker? You have the swearing down pat.

3) I 100% agree that nowdays a degree gets you almost nowhere in this world...even an MBA. Specialized education, such as certification or licensing, will earn extra income if it is mandatory for the position. The more specialized you become in your profession, the greater your chance you will have to earn a higher income.

To be fair, not that I know the guy, but one rant about the customer base does not a misanthropist make. Certainly blowing off steam here is better than screaming at the customers. I'm sure we all have our days (or nights) where we leave our jobs, convinced that everyone in the world is an idiot except us.

Sorry, I can't work those kinds of jobs. Those are what's called, "Holy Jobs".

Named so because you have to be named Jesus or Maria to work there, or have somebody with those names in your immediate family, which can be easily checked because your 50 closest relatives are traveling around in the same van as you, and split a 1 bedroom, .5 bathroom apartment with you.

I can understand your frustration. I truly dislike having people come in to my store and order a 99 cent coffee then use a credit card to pay for it. Talk about being cheap, that is one big insult. I would be embarrassed if I had to charge a 99 cent coffee on my credit card. Don't people realize that store owners have to pay anywhere from 20 - 29 cents per transaction as well as a transaction fee that ranges from 1.5 - 2+ % depending on the processing company that they use for credit cards.

Then you have the people that leave their dirty cups and plates on the table yet you have trash cans in easy to see and access locations through out the store. Or the customers that bring in friends that have McDonalds or other places and eat it in my store while the customer orders a coffee and a sandwich at my place, now that is rude.

But the smart thing for us in the service industry is to be nice and cordial and not **** off too many customers, just the ones you don't want coming back. ;)

I didn't say he wouldn't have ANY problems, just not THESE problems. Besides, anywhere else on the Earth other than an internet message board, people wouldn't equate "education" with "computer science".

I think a PhD in Elizabethan Poetry is allways a good fall back.

I only found out about the first part when an irate manager (yup the manager) at a liquor store told a customer he wont take a credit card for any transaction under five dollars. Guess what they guy was buying... a lotto ticket. Second part makes sense but I didn't know it 'til now. See? Reading these posts arn't a waste of time.
