You're the best "the best _____" thread creator!

What's the best drink?

What's the best car?

Who has the best house?

What's the best, most coolest pokemon?

Who's the best power ranger??

There, I think that'll sum up any post you were thinking of making in the near future.

edit: creator, not creater

Meh.

I automatically think of movies I could watch over and over forever. Airplane, Holy Grail, Spinal Tap... I think of comedies.

Tremors. B movie that was so good it became a blockbuster spawned 2 sequals and a series. As a by product launched Kevin Bacon's Career.

Alien. 20 years ahead of it's time <Yeah i know the sequal is 'better'>

Dogma. Pure comic genius.

Usual Suspects. One of the few films that i didn't see coming, it's great to watch with friends who haven't seen it and watch the look on thier faces when the punchline lands.

wife's choise:

Bridget Jones's diary. a film that shows a real woman </gasp!> with real insecurities that she could atually relate too.

I wouldn't say Aliens is better than Alien, per se, but it is more watchable in my opinion. In that I can put it in and spend minimal attention to it, but when I do "tune in", I can instantly pick up where I'm at and enjoy. Suspense films don't really have that quality and require more effort on the viewer's part.

I'd say Alien was better and more 'groundbreaking' (for lack of a better term), but I've watched Aliens many more times.

Perhaps you meant this movie transcends all genres?

There really should be no gender bias when it comes to beating.

Hmm best films. Not claiming they are the best as I am not really a movie snob as you will see by my selections. I LOVE these films though:

Shawshank Redemption
Top Gun
True Romance
The Game

If anyone is ever feeling down, and would like a good cheery movie to make you feel happy again, may I suggest

Breaking the Waves

You'll thank me when you are hanging from a high ceiling by a short rope

My favorite movies are likely Good Will Hunting and Nobody's Fool. Small, amusing slice-of-life movies with brilliant acting and directing.

But this thread is for best movie ever. Now that I've finally actually seen and can judge, I'd say Godfather (and perhaps GF2) may be the best made movies ever.

One time, I was watching "Friends" late at night. There was absolutely nothing on TV, so there I was, foaming in a seizure-like fit while watching the only cast I've ever seen where no one laughs like a normal person when suddenly, I was abducted by aliens! These weren't regular aliens though, they were TV aliens. They told me how they go house to house looking for bored people watching overrated television shows and help them out. So the aliens hooked me up to this TV and started showing me the best movie I've ever seen. It was like shooting heroine straight into my eyeballs! It was amazing!

Then they sent me home, and told me if I ever told anyone what that movie was called, they'd ************* murder me, you piece of ****."

Aliens aren't that nice.

I think the best human movie I've seen is the first two Batman movies. There could not have been a better cast. Keaton, Pfeifer, DeVito, and Jack Nicholson as the Joker? Genius.

There is a difference between a "favorite" movie and a "best" movie.

Most of my favorite movies are ones that don't belong on any "best" lists.

I go thru fits of movies that I will watch over and over again. My best movies of all time are probably "Feris Buehlers Day" Off", "Goonies", or "Rudy".

My current favorite though is "The Boondock Saints."

Sounds like a good way to get a FBI file started on you Smiley: grin

Agreed on the "favorites" thing. I'd hate to chime in on a Best Movie thread and then have to defend why I think Strange Brew is a better film than Casablanca.

number 1 was very good, number 2 blows unless you watch it back to back with number 3 in which case they are good but not as good as the first one.

I remember paying my 5 bucks to watch number 2 in the theater and being really cheesed that now I would have to see number 3 to understand it and would have to wait to do that.

But, ya I would put Back to the Future (the orginal) on my best movie list

Those are some of my 'favorite' movies- the ones that came to mind. If I had to pick just one, it would be Leaving Las Vegas. After watching that movie, I became a better and more hollow person.

Phreda's sig reminded me of another I can't believe I didn't remember:

Tank Girl. I used to think Lori Petty was hot when I saw that movie...until I saw her outside of the movie. she looks like 2 different people inside and out of that movie.

another reason why i don't usually believe in picking up chicks at bars/clubs...makeup really does do wonders.
