Doesnt it seem like whenever we arrest/surround trail someone it is always the number 2 guy. Do they really keep replacing their number 2 guys this quickly?

These are the same officials that have reported Osama dead or captured 4 times now in the past 3 months alone. I'd wait for confirmation before I'd be willing to belive it.

If this is true though, this is huge. Bin ladin is too high profile to do the daily running of the terror cells. #2 is more likely to be the guy with the knowledge of the day to day operations, names, cell contacts, etc. If they get him, they deal a serious blow to al qaida. Maybe even a fatal blow to the upper organization for a few years, the money etc. the base organization will still be there because the root causes have not gone away.

Besides, mr. number 2 probably knows where his boss is holed up.

Apparently few US Troops are involved which is not a good thing. It will probably end of being Osama's beard trimmer or someone less important.
I hope that the news is true. It would be a huge boon for Bush and the us economy to put to rest the fears of Osama or his flunkies are regrouping.

Go Troops! Time to open up a can of Whoop ***!

Whatever happened to the leader of the Taliban, Mullah Mohammed Omar? Can't remember if he was ever captured or killed, and I thought he'd always been rather high on the most-wanted list. A quick Google search only finds info from immediately after 9/11 related to his tenure as ruthless overlord.

Who was it saying Bin Laden would be captured close to re-election time? If this is true its starting to line up.

I said that and I think they look right on target for a surprise October capture of Bin Laden. Notice how suddenly over the past couple of months there has been a steady rise of stories about the hunt for Bin Laden?

I have been thinking that too, Bush pulls the rabbit out of the hat a week or two before election, looks like a genius wins by a landslide.

I remember someone postulating that he'd already been captured and that they were waiting for election time to reveal the good news. This could still be the case; moving SpecOps into the area now may just be the set-up for the biggest scam since NASA staged the moon landings with help from Stanley Kubrick.

Don't look at me like that; those aren't *my* theories.
