Jebus... I remeber way back when the lady spilled hot coffee on herself at McDonalds prior to the cups having a 'warning hot contents' or the lady that found a fried chicken head in her nuggets... both where awarded millions.

Actually, the coffee woman's judgement was brought down to $480k by the judge before she and McD's settled out of court. However much she got from it, it probably wasn't millions. I don't think the chicken head thing was ever resolved as the woman refused to allow food inspectors to examine it. That was last I heard about it, anyway.

That finger thing is pretty gross though.

She didn't just put it in her mouth. She chewed on it!

What's the problem? I'd put money down saying that at least 95% of America's population has eaten something "gross." Roach eggs in your Big Mac, rat ***** in your school lunch, something.

Well, the difference is knowing what it is you're eating. Yes, many people end up eating less-than-savory bits in otherwise 'normal' food, but often they don't even realize it, or they may detect something 'off' about the food but not bother to investigate further.

Farva: "Does that look like spit to you?"
Ramathorn: "Yeah, it does."
Farva: "Ah, **** it." (proceeds to eat the sandwich anyways)

Actually, Praetorian, unless there are more people than I know meticulously raising and harvesting their own food and livestock, the number's probably even higher.

If I'm not mistaken, the FDA allows consumable products to contain a certain percentage of impurities. Yes, rat ****, bug parts, etc..

It's rather like eating a hot dog. It's palatable as long as you don't think about (and don't see) what it's made of.

This kinda goes along with what Yanari's saying...things like chocolate bars have insect parts in them. next time you look, check the protien...chocolate has no natural protien

Also, for all you fellow smokers out there...same thing with our cigarettes and cigars...a certain amount of bug parts is allowable

I worked in a restaurant once and one of the kitchen guys cut his whole finger off on a meat slicer. Somehow the guard was missing, but he decided to use it anyway. I only heard him scream, I didn't see him actually cut his finger off, but it was enough to make me quite ill. They were able to put it on ice and get him to the hospital so the docs were able to reattach it. But still... blech.

Worrying about insect bits while inhaling carcinogenic chemicals seems a bit peculiar. Besides, I'm burning them, not chewing them up.

They should have had a Truth ad complaining about insect parts in cigarettes. Some guy dressed as a giant ant standing around the Phillip Morris headquarters. Or calling the CEO and asking if he knew where his ladybugs were.

Non-smokers generally don't bother me too much. It's the EX-SMOKERS who will never shut up.

You're not cool unless you have a Dragon Ball Z character's name somewhere in your online alias.
